  • Great tool for what it is designed!
Size: 3 Claws
We live in Wyoming where the wind blows every weed seed alive into our yard...mostly dandelions. I am 70 years old with rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and a torn rotator cuff and so was looking for something to help me at least with some of the weeds when I ordered this. I was disappointed that, due to Covid, I had to wait for the order instead of my 2-day Prime, but it was still worth the wait!. I showed the video to my husband of what I was expecting and he said, "That will be good...IF it works..." UPS delivered it that afternoon and without even opening the box I took it out to my husband who was "weed eating" the front yard. He has just had his 7th back surgery and had previously been trying to get out the dandelions with a different long handled tool, which I could see was straining his back. He took the new Walensee Stand Up Weed Puller out of the box and immediately starting using it. I really think he wanted to show me that it was a waste of my money! Surprise!! It was so easy and effective he worked for two hours straight. He was like a demon and was like a kid with a new toy. I have to say that I had thoroughly watered the yard that morning so the soil was damp to depth. The weed puller is light weight aluminum but has not bent with all of the use and pulled up dandelions, even the heavier-rooted ones of long-standing, and five or six other shallow to medium depth weeds including "bunch grass". We now (after he attacked the weeds again yesterday) have three huge black garbage bags filled with weeds. The plugs of dirt/clay which come out are "aerating" the lawn and flower bed at the same time as a bonus. Even though the tool was to be a help for me, it has turned into his "toy" and that is still helping me because he loves pulling those weeds. I do have to say that it does NOT pull up the crab grass (I call it "octopus grass" due to the long white runners it sends out in all directions.) but at least I don't have to pull ALL of the weeds anymore. I give it five starts, and just don't expect miracles against huge weeds and dry ground. Again I say get this. Be reasonable in your expectation. Water the ground THOROUGHLY and don't expect miracles on huge weeds with my poor aching hands anymore. Buy one! Have "fun" though, pulling up the annoyances. And yes, an adjustable height shaft would make it better and easier on backs, but all I can say is that it is the best money I've spent in a while! I'd buy it again in a hot minute. ... show more

  • Favorite yard tool to date!
Size: 3 Claws
Only had for a month or so, but I absolutely love this thing! It makes getting up dandelions a breeze, as well as other weeds with lesser roots. It seems pretty sturdy, works as advertised and is a whole lot easier than manually bending over and prying up weeds. No assembly required, just stab and swirl, and the weeds pop out of the prongs with a push of a button, which is definitely a back and TIME saver. I must add that I live in a mountainous area with super hard soil, so I usually do this within a day or so of rain. I don't review many items these days, but this is easily one of my favorite yard tools. ... show more

  • Good , but not perfect
Size: 3 Claws
I bought this because a popular home and garden publication recommended it as a "must have" garden and lawn care tool. I will say that it mostly does what it's supposed to. I was afraid it was going to be heavy and awkward to use, but it's very light and no effort at all to maneuver eith ine hand. I spent about 20 minutes going around my yard with this gadget in one hand and a 5 gallon bucket in the other. After 20 minutes, the pail was 3/4 full of weeds, far faster than I could have done it crawling around on my hands and knees. It works on dandelions, plantain, and many other weeds. Spreading weeds like spurge, creeping Charlie, and cinqfoil are a little tougher to tackle with thus tool, but it does work. The only real issue is with large dandelions (more than 5" in diameter), it can be hard to tell exactly where the center of the plant is, and so multiple attempts may be needed to grab the root. On weeds with a deep tap root, it also tends to break the root off at about the depth of the prongs. And with about 10% of the dandelions, it didnt break the root off and I had to bend down and pull it by hand. Still, definitely a good product that I'm sure I'll be using a lot this spring and summer. ... show more

  • It works as advertised - It's Perfect.
Size: 3 Claws
I love this tool! It is very sturdy, so easy to use and works perfectly. More than that, I removed more weeds than one could count, in a third of the time it would have taken to pull them by hand and I didn't reach for the Bengay when I finished. This tool is well worth the money, actually I would have paid twice the price. It's comfortable to use and I suspect it is rust resistant but only time will tell. If it does rust, I'll buy another. ... show more
