If you’re like me and usually don’t buy this kind of item on Amazon due to fears of it not showing up as you expected, ergo smaller, not as heavy duty or not living up to its promise because let’s be honest. Selling and shipping quality yard tools is a tough task…but here you’ve found a home run! It’s a bit premature probably for my area, if that’s even a thing, to aerate my small ish sized grass area of my backyard. I AM DETERMINED this year to employ every tool, step, and measure to keep my grass, rather yet grow my grass to perfection…I’ll settle with alive and full. The grass at my home backs up directly to a bullhead retaining wall so it’s got its own challenges and is compacted by nature or the loose soil would yield to unstable barrier. I’ve been looking for a high quality aerator for a decent price for a while and really couldn’t find anything close to this in price, and now that I see it…quality. Packaged well and easy assembly (really just putting together a few bits because of the shipping) this is one of my favorite purchases for the yard yet! The ability to load the roller on site and even empty if you desire is a huge plus. Carrying around the properly weighted aerator /roller I needed were just not options for me and my back. Luckily, I could grab some of the landscape rocks nearby…weight it up. And then when I was done using it. I just emptied the canister of the rocks and put them back in the yard making it easy to store this tool. Evenly distributed aeration and an easy to push high quality roller and handle arm…if you’re in need of lawn aeration I really can’t recommend this enough. I don’t often give 5 stars but this is a win. Looking forward to reward of proper preparation for stunning grass, which starts with aeration (and in my case if very densely packed soil)!

This works as advertised. Easy to put together, sturdy and extra long handle. I do advise adding some additional weight inside just to assist in getting a good depth without having to push down too hard. Also good idea to do shortly after rains if have a harder or clay soil. Creates holes for water, compost nutrients, etc to soak into the soil easier. Worth raking first if have leaves, will pick them up in the process.

I decided to get this roller version because the other lawn spiking tools I have require way too much effort and time. I have the ones that attach to your shoes, and the ones on the end of a poll that you have to push down into the dirt and then pull it up and do it again. They are incredibly inefficient and exhausting. This one is so superior it's in a completely different class. It's like comparing a hand screwdriver to a power drill with a screwdriver bit in it. You can literally cover a large area in no time by just walking behind it. So am I glad I got it? Hell yes! My other spiking tools will probably end up in a garage sale. But this roller isn't perfect. There are a couple of things I wish were different. First, the spikes are only about 2 inches long and that may not be optimum. The good thing is these spikes are generic and they can be replaced with longer ones if you choose. It's not that difficult but a bit time consuming considering how many there are. My other issue is with the method of adding weight to the roller. You have to practically disassemble the roller to add or remove weight. It would be great if there was some way to do it without all that work so you will almost certainly do it once and leave it that way. But if you do fill it with rocks or sand or whatever, it will be quite heavy. Unless you have fairly loose soil I highly recommend wetting your lawn first to enable the spikes to easily pierce the dirt. This will make your job much easier although slightly messier. Bottom line, if you have a lawn more than 10 or 20 ft², this is the only way to go. The tool is very well built and I expect it to last for many years. I hope this helps. This rolling lawn aerator is a solid tool for keeping my yard healthy without too much effort. The 42 spikes do a great job penetrating the soil, and the adjustable handle makes it comfortable to use. It rolls smoothly, though it helps to water the lawn a bit beforehand if the ground is too hard. Assembly was straightforward, and the build feels durable. If you're looking for an easy way to aerate your lawn without a motorized machine, this is a great option!

The media could not be loaded. This product came packaged extremely well especially around the spike roller. Easy to assemble and came with instructions with pictures. There was also a little bag that not only included the screws, washers, and tools but came with an extra spike in case one broke off. It is metal so it does have some weight to it. However, you can unscrew the sides to place in rocks or sand for additional weight. I tried mine just purely how it came. If the soil is damp or soft already, I didn't really need the weight but if I am going to garden, I would most definitely add in the sand to add more weight to better puncture the soil. It is easy and kind of fun to use. The roller itself is a really good size.

The Walensee Rolling Lawn Aerator is fantastic! It’s heavy-duty and built to last, with 42 spikes that do an excellent job of aerating my lawn.
