You've read the other reviews (if you didn't then you should, it's shopping research 101 and they all have very useful things to say) so you will likely by now know about the features it offers, such as very customisable alarm scheduling and the new model having expanded options for the looping sounds you can choose as the alarm, as well as the new option to not have any sound play. This part becomes important. I'd wanted to get a sunrise alarm clock for our toddler's bedroom in order to try and keep him within his already pretty well self-established hours of waking in the mornings as well as giving him some light to use to see if he wanted to get out of bed and play, as he would otherwise be sitting at 7:30am in a dark room and that's no fun. This clock - the previous model, actually - came highly rated by several sources and soon was on our kid's bookshelf. The schedualing is nice, the sounds not so much but I've already alluded to why having no sound playing during the 'alarm' is a good feature. I've rated this as a 5 out of 5 and while I stand by that, there are a couple minor caveats that I need to add. I originally set the alarm up to play birds chirping however, upon the designated time next morning I awoke to hear the sound playing from his room the floor below ours, even on the quietest setting. It also looped a little too regularly so was noticable as being an alarm rather than pleasant ambiance. As a result it was a little irritating. I set the clock to instead next time have the light gently fade up leading to the chosen time but to have no sound play. I've not needed to change anything since. Our 2 year old, if not already stirring at 7:30, has a gentle glow sgtart to fade up over the course of 30 minutes until reaching it's peak at 8:00 - a peak brightness that you can choose, too, so you don't have to be forced to stare into the sun and can instead have a nice warm glow. So yeah, the alarm sound is 'loud' at the lowest volume but the radio is a little quiet at the lowest, and bringing it up to the next makes it a little too loud if just going to be next to it. If that makes sense? It's minor and may only be an issue for me but if using the radio as an alarm sound, rather than an every day radio, it's liekly not a problem and will suit it fine. The other minor thing is the color lights. You can press a button at any time and can turn on the 'sunrise' light so you have an ornage-yellow glow. Press it again to turn it off. However, press the other light button for the color-changing light effects then press that button and it will cycle through the different light effects. You'd have to press the sunrise button to switch to that first and then press the sunrise button again to turn the light off. I understand why it does that - so you can cycle the effects - but even now I'll forget that it won't turn off the rainbow effect and I end up cycling through them instead of turning it off. I've come to only using that light effect on rare occasions. But yep, for use as a silent sunrise light for our toddler, it's a 5/5 product and very happy with it! ... show more

I got the JALL alarm clock after really liking the wake-up experience with a more basic sunrise clock I'd gotten at a local store. I love the fact that you can dim the clock face at night, which was a huge problem with the previous clock I tried. There are a good number of options when it comes to choosing wake up sounds and light brightness. The bird sounds are really peaceful. I found the other sound options to almost be too harsh; it's almost like the sound quality is subpar and there's some background artifact on some of the sounds. I do wish that the light stayed on when you hit the snooze feature (snooze turns off both sound and light). I appreciated with our previous clock that the sound stopped, but the light stayed on, which really helped me in the wake-up process. I also have not yet found a light setting that would let me use this clock as a dim bedside reading light, but now I'm just being picky! I really do enjoy this sunrise alarm clock. My husband, who doesn't like to wake up as early as I do, has begrudgingly agreed to use it, and says it works so well that he's wide awake after the alarm goes off (but in a "peaceful" way, doesn't feel upset about it). I would recommend this as a great budget sunrise alarm clock! ... show more

I originally bought this clock for my daughter's room. However, after 2 months, it stopped working. I was disappointed because according to Amazon, I was past the return date. The clock was wonderful and was the perfect addition to my daughter's room. I came here and wrote a 1 star review because of this. What I did not expect was for the seller to reach out to me and immediately offer a replacement. This showed me that they believed in and stood by their product. They sent another one out immediately. I respect and love this type of customer service. I would recommend this clock. It's beautiful and have so many functions.     • Great customer service, but couldn’t get it to work for me

The company responded to my original review with instructions on how to set the alarm to radio, but ultimately I still couldn’t get mine to work (it wouldn’t ever stop scanning for radio stations, and the buttons to go up/down didn’t work, so it would always start scanning from the mid 80’s and the station I wanted was over 105, when it got there, I’d hit the button to set it, and it would just keep scanning, then completely start over). It might just specifically be a faulty one (it had clearly been returned once as the clock was already set when I got it, the battery tab had been removed, and the cable was tied together weird). The customer service was great, and they immediately emailed after my initial review, with an offer to refund and troubleshooting help, but ultimately the trouble of trying to get it to work isn’t worth it to me, so I’m returning (I didn’t want to just take the refund and keep the alarm, especially since I am gonna end up buying another one anyway). If you’re someone who sleeps through alarms (I am), this is for sure not going to be loud enough for you. I think it’s meant for a more relaxing wake up routine, whereas I need to be fully startled awake. The light also seemed to come on way before the alarm sounds, inexplicably. ... show more
