These barely stay in the chuck and do not expand the copper pipe at all. You get what you pay for. I would love to return them for the disappointment.

I got this to swage a copper propane line 3/8" dia. - it did the job, but it's really hard to hang onto the tubing while doing it. Not only does it generate a tremendous amount of heat such that you can't hold the piping - it puts a lot of torque on the tubing too, so you have to be careful how you retain the tubing. I would hate to try to do this to a larger dia. tubing, but for smaller tubing it seems to work ok. also, be careful with the shards developed as they can contaminate the line very easily.

I ordered these for the 1/4" bit holder and carabiner. The swage tools are very cool and super heavy duty. Very thick and should hold up well when you twist them in a pipe to expand it. I was very surprised at how thick they actually were. It is a great set if you need to expand copper pipe for any plumbing needs. The bit holders are very well built and the carabiner is Ok to hold all of the bits. I did find one thing odd. The carabiner screw collar can over screw past the end so it becomes lodged and takes a little fumbling to get it back on the threaded portion. If it were slightly shorter or the threads had a limiter then it would be better. For this issue I dropped my rating by one star. I would order this set again and would recommend this to others.

These bit holders will hold your bits but they lack the premium feel of more expensive options. Immediately you can feel the metal is lighter weight than you would expect. When you pull the retainer clip and insert your bit and it clicks but even after releasing the retaining mechanism there is a lot of in/out play about a centimeter. I don't doubt these will hold your bits without fail but if you are expecting premium quality you're going to have to pay a bit more.

I picked up this copper tubing expander tool with the hope of saving some time and skipping the need for unions when joining 1/2" copper pipes. The idea behind it is solid - swage the end of one pipe just enough to slip another pipe inside it and solder them together. It’s a handy concept for anyone working with copper plumbing, especially if you want to keep fittings to a minimum. Unfortunately, this tool just didn’t deliver. I tested it on several pieces of standard 1/2" copper pipe, and every single one ended up with a crack or split at the end. I made sure to use clean, properly cut pipe, and even applied a little heat on one of the attempts to soften the copper, but still had the same issue. The tool either expanded the pipe too aggressively or unevenly, and the end result was unusable. Honestly, I was really disappointed. Instead of making my job easier, this tool caused more frustration and wasted good pipe. In the end, I went back to using a basic union, which worked flawlessly and gave me a much more secure and reliable connection. If you’re considering this for your next plumbing project, I’d recommend skipping it and just going with a standard fitting. It might cost a little more up front, but it will save you time, material, and the headache of dealing with cracked pipes.

These are...ok. Each tool is easy to remove from the holder with a reverse pull so they don't get bumped out in transport which is a nice touch. Overall fitment could be a little better, the hex shanks stayed in the tool but are a little undersized so they wiggle a bit more than usual. The carabiner and holders feel like they are made from cheap aluminum giving me reservations about long term durability.
