  • Could use some improvements but pretty good
Color: Black Style: 16 inch touch
I got mine around a year ago so Ive had plenty of time to see its pros and cons. Major pro for me is that this thing is powerful but not super big and bulky. I have the 16" so its bigger than the normal laptop I think but as long as you get a proper bag yours good to go. I draw all the time using this thing and so far haven't had any major issues with the tablet itself such as crashes; however, Im not sure if I got a broken one or something but the buttons on the pen literally fell out and I lost them. I have no idea why that happened. Issues with the tablet itself are that the battery life is pretty low and that this thing came in fact become a space heater if your not careful with where your using it. couple of times its gotten so hot it hurt to touch it and I had to shut it off worried it would break. I have accidently slammed the corner of it onto concrete floors before and surprisingly it did no damage. so overall its really good if your willing to spend the money. ... show more

  • Keeping Artists comfy!
Color: Black Style: 13 inch touch
The media could not be loaded. I’ll premise this with I’ve used Wacom products since the early 2000’s and have experience using a variety of products. Mobile studio pro is great for people who want a break from a desk and sit on the couch or anywhere :) I am a professional artist in the arts industry and having the ability to sit on the couch comfortably without sacrificing the art, is a huge plus. I use photoshop mainly and I’m able to run full program without any lag. It has a small side fan to allow it to run properly. It’s also about 3lbs and about half an inch in terms of thickness so it’s not crazy heavy! You can also work on it without it being plugged in to the charger. Battery life runs just as long as any laptop computer that’s been unplugged. It also comes with a detachable stand you can adjust at various angles. I personally like to prop it on my lap while watching tv on the couch! I’m primarily an iOS user, so using a windows based machine took a second to get used to but nothing complicated. Downloading anything was easy and no issues. If anything, tech support is easily accessible through their website or social media- theyre there to help! It also has side ports in case you want to plug in a mouse or hard drives, etc. You can hook up Bluetooth keyboard if you wanted but it also has a on-screen keyboard you can use. So I haven’t had the need to use one yet. The screen doesn’t have a glare, and mimics the same surface as a cintiq. I also own a cintiq and works the same as mobile studio pro. Pressure sensitivity is also the same and zero lag. I like the mobile studio pro because it allows me to run full photoshop without having to sacrifice any tools. In comparison to an iPad, I’d say you’re able to create completed pieces using all the tools because it is essentially a full computer- how cool is that?? On iPad, I can’t run photoshop using all the tools or have the extra buttons on the pen. Mobile studio pro pen has the buttons so you can use your favorite shortcuts. I use it to change in between tools. I’m also left handed and I am able to rotate the mobile studio pro to make the buttons be on the other side. Right now, I have it defaulted on the left, but I can switch it at ease if I need it to. I was worried resting my hand was going to recognize it on the screen, but it doesn’t! It recognizes the pen allowing me to draw normal as I would on a cintiq. The pen also comes with different pen nibs. I personally like the felt tip but the default one is just as great because the screen has a matte screen allowing you to get that paper feel. If anything, you can just compare it to any cintiq if you’ve used one before! The 13” screen size is perfect for me. I was worried it would make buttons small, but they’re at a normal size and easy to see. Installing brushes and any other tools was pretty simple. Same process as I would do it on any machine. I have to say, being a Wacom user since I was a young teen, it’s really amazing to see how far they’ve come with all their products throughout all these years. They continue to impress me. I rate this 5 stars because I’m able to create full pieces without having to miss any tools, being portable, and working at full speed. I would recommend this to artists who are looking to take a break from their desk, sit on the couch, and have fun creating art! :) ... show more

  • Pretty competent pen comp, but pray your pen isn't busted.
Color: Black Style: 16 inch touch
I saved whole paychecks just to buy this thing, and it was plenty worth it. The display has some brilliant, almost-retina quality and the touch screen helped facilitate my use of several drawing apps (especially my mainstays Photoshop and Illustrator). That said, one con I know of is that the Pro Pen 2 that came with it was dead on arrival--I tested it out on my earlier Cintiq 22 just to be sure it wasn't the MSP's drivers being broken. While I did have a spare pen from said Cintiq, I ultimately bought a replacement so that I could have separate pens for both devices. Probably not a great prospect for anyone looking to make the MSP their only Wacom device. Otherwise, the pen computer is a solid device for satisfying my muse. Now I just need to save up some more for some accessories, more RAM and a bigger internal SSD and this thing will be more than ready to be my new companion! ... show more

  • Updated. Wacom fixed it & now I love it!
Color: Black Style: 16 inch touch
Update: I sent my msp16 in for repairs & wacom send me one like new. And now its the tablet I expected! Works great. I mostly use it in tabletpc mode but sometimes I dock it to my imac with a single usb c cable for a dual screen. the touch functionality is however not as good running in mac osx. My biggest gripe now is the ram. It comes with 16. It has a panel to add another 16, but it will void your warranty. And really i wish it could max out at 64. My imac from 6 years ago has 24, so its not a huge jump. I setup the wacom onscreen menus so I can use it on a couch without a keyboard & its a great experience. I gave a 24 pro for work, and for most things I prefer drawing on the MSP16. OLD: I’ve been a long time customer of Wacom. Including the first 12 Cintiq, 22hd, companion 2 before this MSP. I was always very happy but kind of disappointed with this one. I love the screen & buttons & touch interface with photoshop. The glass is thinner so it scrambles the colors on the lcd if you push very hard, which was never a problem on earlier models, but not a big deal and you adjust. What i’ve been really unhappy with is the performance. It gets incredibly laggy at times where i cant use it without restarting. I tried everything from online performance tweaks, virus scanners, cooling pad, and finally a clean reinstall without luck. I can’t even use it for teaching my drawing class in zoom, I end up having to hook it to my 9 year old imac. A $3500 computer shouldn’t have these issues. I don’t know if its a bad one or just a fluke but I really regret not sending it back sooner. I really love the touch/drawing experience so I was hoping to troubleshoot it. Hoping to get it replaced but doubtful :(. (If your from Wacom and can help please comment, I’ve been going through the website without a solution. ) ... show more
