  • ORANGE ORANGE ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!!
I originally bought this product instead of Hula by Benefit and Bahama Mama by theBalm because it was much cheaper, and a lot of the reviews were saying that its basically the same thing, or very similar. I was very excited about this product, and couldn't wait to try it. First of all I'd like to say that the packaging is great! Its a cute little pink box. I love it!!!! The brush is also really good and easy to use. Usually products like this come with a unusable brush but this brush is really soft and does a great job of giving you that nice line for contouring!!! THE ISSUE I HAD: As much as I love the packaging and the brush, it all comes down to the actual product itself (the powder). I was very careful and read basically every review for this product. Most of them had said that the powder wasn't orange AT ALL. (I've always had this issue with buying contouring products whether it has been cream or powder, most of them turn out orange) I was excited because I had finally found a bronzer that WASN'T ORANGE. However...I was very disappointed when I actually tried the bronzer, because it wasn't brown at all!!! IT WAS PURE ORANGE. It just looked like an orange powder on my skin. Overall, I have to say that the packaging, the brush, and also the formula of the powder are AWESOME. It lasts all day, its very easy to apply, and definitely blendable! & if you're looking for an orange bronzer, then this is great. But, if you're looking for a more natural looking contour/bronze powder then I would not recommend this at all!!! I ended up doing what I was trying to avoid in the first place but I'm very glad I did so. I bought the Bahama Mama by theBalm a week later which I absolutely LOVE!!! It was about $10 more, but worth it! It has the natural tan look!! So if you are looking for a non-orange bronzer I highly recommend the Bahama Mama, which is not as expensive as Hula by Benefit, but is still very beautiful! theBalm Bahama Mama UPDATE: I added pictures of the two powders. The swatch closest to the Honolulu is the Honolulu. The powders are not this dark, I put a few coats so the color is more visible in the picture. ... show more

  • Similar to Hoola bronzer
Let me first off start with saying that this product is very good! The packaging is very good and the brush that it comes with is soft and firm. I bought this bronzer because it looked much like the Hoola bronzer by benefit and did cost way less than the Hoola too. I decided to buy it and give it a try. When I first applied it, I realized that it was pretty dark for my skin tone so I had to blend it out, also I realized that it wasn't matte so when I contoured it didn't look that natrual but, After many applications I got the gist of it and I began to use it everyday and I began to love it!! Because I didn't have the Hoola I couldn't really compare both products but I received the Hoola bronzer as a gift and I was able to compare them both. In the picture I have the Honolulu bronzer on the left and Hoola on the right with their swatches under them. As you can see they seem very similar in the swatches but Honolulu appears to be darker with a hint of sparkle. Honolulus brush is so soft and very firm great for contouring, Hoolas brush is soft but a little bit rough on the skin and isn't firm for contouring. Both products are fairly similar so if you want to save yourselves a couple dollars (more like a lot of dollars) I would buy the Honolulu bronzer. Overall I give this product 4 stars because it's a very good product, I just wish it was a bit lighter and matte. ... show more

  • Beautiful matte natural bronzer
This is awesome! I have fair skin (neutral) and this works great for me. A little goes a long way. I think it is a LOT more pigmented than the expensive brand for this product - so go in with a light hand and blend, blend, blend. The included brush is better than I expected, but typically I will use my own brushes with any product. The packaging is adorable as well. This is great for a natural look, and it was not orange at all on my skin. It just looked like I had been on vacation a bit. Tip: this can be used on your neck in case your foundation is a little too dark for you in the winter...mine is just a tiny touch too dark, so I'll add Honolulu on my neck and a little on my face to make everything blend seamlessly. My makeup collection is a mixture of high end and drugstore products - but Honolulu is definitely a HG wear every day type of item. It arrived faster than expected in great condition. • Mediocre
I used Hoola from Benefit a long time ago. I realize it was over priced and I found some less expensive bronzer after that. I recently used up my bronzer from NYC sun bunny. Then I saw W7 bronzing powder. I decided to give it a try. When I received the product, i didn't love the color, they didn't have multi colors to choose from which wa odd because we all have different complexions. When I opened the box, then realized the lid would not stay on. Since it wouldn't close secured, the lid can come off easily. I use a rubber band around the top and the bottom so it will stay closed. To me the color was not orange, it was very very light. I only use it to couture, so the soft brush that came with the product was the wrong tool for contouring . So I have to use short strokes to make it darker. I use it on casual days, not a bad product for the price. ... show more

  • Darker than expected, still great on a pale chick like myself!
Initially, I was concerned, as this product is definitely darker than an it's counterpart Benefit product, which shall go unnamed...However, after application, I was very, very pleased with the results. As a fair-skinned (ok, just super pale to be honest) gal, I have to have bronzer or folks will ask me if I'm not feeling well. This stuff definitely does the job of making me not look like an extra on The Walking Dead. Yes, you have to be careful not to overdo it, and to blend it thoroughly, but at 1/6th the cost of the competitive product, it's totally worth it. I almost like the fact that it's more concentrated. Keep up the good work W7!! ... show more
