I just tried this umbrella for the first time while walking my dogs the night before hurricane or tropical storm Nicole makes landfall in Florida. We are currently experiencing 25-30 mph winds in all directions. While trying an umbrella during a hurricane is normally absurd, I decided to try the "windproof" feature that the umbrella manufacturer claims. Now, the umbrella is a very attractive, lightweight and portable umbrella. During the night before the storm, it did invert on me a few times but I am happily pleased to report that the umbrella simply returned back to normal very easily (by facing the umbrella in the direction of the wind) and the fact that the umbrella did hold up to the abuse, meaning, it did not fall apart or break. I do feel the trunk of the umbrella is a little better made and sturdy than the normal cheap portable umbrellas, I did not give this 5 stars due to the fact that I do own other umbrellas that hold up to winds just as good and probably half the price. I do feel that this is a well made and high quality umbrella though.

I love the umbrella and the feel of it. It's a perfect size. I gave it 4 stars, instead of 5 because it's a bit awkward to get it back into its cover. I needed to fold each panel individually. If you don't intend to use the cover, it's perfect!

This is a good sized compact+ umbrella. I added the + because it's the not smallest umbrella I've owned, but it's the smallest that I think you can get while still retaining function and durability. I've had smaller more compact umbrellas, but they were also very flimsy and were prone to break and repeatedly needed to be replaced. This one is a decently enough compact size (2.5" x 11") but sturdy enough to be reliable when I need it -- so great to pack for travelling, or to throw in your backpack or your car for emergencies. I It is semi-automatic -- while closed, pushing the button will unlock and open the umbrella. When open, pushing the button again will collapse the umbrella allowing you to retract it easily. The color is nice and unique, so easy to pick out from a pile. I got the 'navy blue' which is more a cobalt or denim blue (a few shades lighter than navy) in my opinion. The picture on the product page is pretty color accurate to what you actually get.

This is a umbrella which I would use in times when I don't have a big umbrella... But it's just a small umbrella, that you can take along to travel, when you go somewhere etc.. It's decently small and lightweight ..It comes in nice colors and is a automatic umbrella as opposed to an automatic one... It has a nice handle.. It's not the best quality , but it's not bad quality... Comes in handy in times of small rain showers when I wouldn't want to hold a bigger heavy umbrella... Overall, a ordinary umbrella...

My wife wanted an extra umbrella to keep at work just in case she were to ever forget the one in her car. Great size. Easy to carry around. I like that it has a button on the handle to open and close the umbrella which makes it easier for her to use instead of manually having to do it like her current one. She really likes the color of it too. Would have been a nice feature if the cover for the umbrella had a zipper at the opening to make it open wider and easier to place it on but my wife managed to do it without. Overall, happy with the item!

Very thick material. Blocks the sun, rain, or wind. Sturdy too. It DOES weigh more, due to the heavier materials, but that isn't an issue. The first time I opened it, I was surprised! You press the button and ~PRESTO~ it is all the way open. Good thing I didn't try it the first time, IN the car. Definitely demonstrate it for smaller kids, before handing it to them. I really like it!

This is a really great umbrella. Its small enough to carry in a backpack but large enough to keep you from getting soaked when you are outside in the rain. I would recommend. It was a little difficult to open. The button requires you to push it with force but I think that over time it will get a little easier to push.

The first thing I noticed about this umbrella is it's very heavy, even though it's compact. When I opened it up, I could see why. Each spine of the umbrella is reinforced with a second metal piece so it won't break when it's windy. Every seam is reinforced, including the top of the umbrella. It came with a matching bag. It is a really pretty pastel shade of pink. The underside of the umbrella is black. I think this is a good value for such a sturdy umbrella.
