I purchased the VVIVID XPO Vinyl to wrap the trunk of my 2015 WRX. Overall I was very pleased with the item. I am inclined to think most of my problems came from user error other then product failure. That being said, Below is my breakdown based on what I was looking for in the product; Packaging/Shipping: The vinyl came within two days in a full roll. I know there were some concerns for the sheet coming folded. This was not the case and the roll was crease-less. Open the box for the first time outdoors however. The bottled up vinyl smell is a bit strong when the product is first opened up. Product Quality: My first thought was "Wow this is more stiff then I expected". Most of this stiffness is due to the backing paper. The carbon fiber is more of a raw texture giving it a matte finish. It still has a great look, just not as glossy as real carbon fiber parts. This is all a look preference though. I think it looks better with less gloss. Ease of Use/Installation: This is a mixed bag for me. If one has a smooth, semi flat to flat surface, then installation is a breeze. I started on the top of my trunk and that was a quick as anything to install. The vinyl is super forgiving and very easy to push bubbles through. My trouble come with the turn down to the back side of the trunk. The vinyl is nice in that it is heat activated. This allows one to pull up and re-position many times with no issues. I had to pull up and place the back a few times and one of them used too much force. This resulted in a tear in the vinyl. At this point I had to scrap the back of the trunk and just do the top. Like I said, this tear was most likely my own error. Overall, I thought it was very easy to use if one is patient with it. Durability: The installation was about 4 weeks ago and the product is holding up just like the day I installed it. Some bubbles will appear days after the install as it is baking in the sun. All one needs to do is rub them and the air release tech will do the rest. Overall: Really great product. I actually plan on purchasing more to wrap my roof and hood. Looks great from any angle. I have had a few people ask about it already because it looks so good. Five stars based on the fact that I was a complete beginner and was still able to do a professional looking job. VVIVID® XPO Black Carbon Fiber Car Wrap Vinyl : My first time trying anything like this. I bought a set of applicators, two with felt, for under $5. I flattened the vinyl using a heat gun, peeled the backer off and applied the plywood. Then flipped over and folded the sides. I am using it to cover 3 boards to cover an open top shoe rack. I can't say I did a great job around the sides or corners but it looks good. It smells so I put it outside. Hopefully it doesn't get too cold. It will likely take a few days or longer to air out. High quality carbon fiber wrap, VViViD is some of the best vinyl out there, but this stuff is VERY thick. The pattern is a physical texture on the vinyl itself which makes it really difficult to stretch, even under heat. I made the mistake of using this to learn how to wrap with on my interior to do some silver plastic delete and it has been INCREDIBLY difficult to work with. However! The results look and feel FANTASTIC if you can be patient. Get ready to work on each piece for at LEAST an hour, if not more. Some pieces took multiple hours and multiple attempts and even on the second attempt it's still not right. Buy 2x the amount you plan to use because you're going to absolutely tear this stuff and throw a lot of failed attempts out. It also has some issues adhering (on very thin areas, because it's so stiff). The top two corners in my center console job shown below eventually bubbled back up and tore (and this was the second attempt). ... show more

First, great quality vinyl wrap. Length was 5ft and width was 1ft as stated. However I did measure in a few places for width and found there to be a slight variation. Bit this was about 1/8 of an inch over the 5ft span. The vinyl cut easily with a razor knife and adhesion is good without adding adhesive. Now for installation; I bought this because we have had extremely hot days that caused my vent air freshener to drip down the dash. The chemical and heat are through the finish of the radio control panel and trim. Thoroughly cleaned all surfaces with rubbing alcohol. Also note I removed all trim pieces and stereo control panel for this install. I have watched several videos of this being applied without removing the trim, but the end results didn’t look desirable around the edges. And all of these did not have a navigation screen. Most videos state to cut in corners to apply without creasing. Then I watched a video of professionals applying to the outside of vehicles. They heat the vinyl and slightly stretch then push out creases and bubbles. I used a $16 genesis two temperature heat gun also purchased on amazon. Using a heat gun made the install extremely easy and forgiving. In addition this also made the adhesive set up and harden faster. Using this method allowed for a tight comforming fit on the trim pieces. In addition by matching the pattern the heat allowed for better seams. The heat allowed easy manipulation by hand with no vinyl tools required. All trim tools I purchased from harbor freight as the entire kit was only 7.99. And a .99cent razor knife. I used the trim tools to push in any pieces the dislocated after reinstall of trim. The wrap did not prevent trim pieces to fail to install and no damage occurred to the trim in the process. ... show more

I feel the bad reviews may be from people that dont know how to apply wrap. Spray with soapy water mix, heatgun the heck out of it, stretch, apply, strech and mold around corners and edges, squeegee, heat again if necessary, hold till it cools, and finally, trim with extremely sharp blade. This is outstanding film and the CF texture matches my Teslas dry CF everywhere else. Five stars, I'll come back and edit this if it doesn't hold up over time. ... show more
