Description

Our wraps are easy to use, safe for your paint, and continually improved every batch. VViViD is an industry leader in the vinyl wrapping world. Our products are used by millions of customers and have been featured in world-class car shows and events. Our tapes come with all the features of our regular wraps such as air-release and repositionability which makes installing these tapes as hassle free and forgiving as possible for any skill level. Post-heating is a crucial step in vinyl wrap installation that ensures a strong bond, smooth finish, and long-term durability. It activates the adhesive, enhances conformability, minimizes wrinkles, and prevents lifting over time. Heat-setting also reinforces the vinyl’s shape memory, reducing distortion and improving resistance to temperature changes. Forgetting this step risks premature wear and poor adhesion, making post-heating essential for a professional, long-lasting wrap. Post-heating is critical to preventing edge lifting. When vinyl is stretched beyond the edge of a surface, such as a hood, it will attempt to contract back due to its memory. This causes the adhesive to weaken, and the vinyl may pull away from the edge. Skipping post-heating accelerates this process, leading to premature edge lifting. Proper heating ensures the vinyl stays securely bonded, preventing the edges from lifting over time. We've been in the vinyl wrapping game for over 10 years, trusted by millions of customers and showcased in world-class car shows. Our user-friendly vinyl wraps are easy to install and come with 500+ hours of video tutorials to help you get started. So why wait? Choose VViViD for your next vinyl wrapping project and experience the perfect combination of quality, affordability, and innovation! These are CKWraps' must have tools to smoothly install vinyl wrap. VViViD has all the tools you will need to start your next vinyl project. VViViD’s air-channels vanish over time, ensuring a strong bond that won’t lift, peel, or allow contaminants and moisture to seep in. The most economical and easiest way to achieve a chrome delete. Looking for a sleek, seamless finish to match the rest of your vehicle? This is the simple solution that delivers a clean, modern look without the cost of a full wrap or paint job. Proper preparation is key to achieving a clean, long-lasting finish. Start by washing the chrome with soap & water then wipe with isopropyl alcohol. Once dry, measure how much length you need & apply onto the trim. Leave a little extra material to give you some flexibility. Use Heat where needed. Once applied, use a blade to carefully trim any excess vinyl. Tuck the edges neatly with wrap stick or squeegee to properly seal them. Don't forget to post-heat as our adhesive is heat activated! Let sit for 24 hours for a strong bond that won't lift. Can my vinyl wrap survive the winter? Yes! Your vinyl wrap can survive winter with proper care. Use a ceramic coating like FUSE for protection, wash regularly with a vinyl-safe soap, avoid scrapers, and don’t use hot water or high-pressure washers. Park in a garage when possible. What tools do I need to wrap my car? You'll need a heat gun to stretch and set the vinyl, a knife for precise cuts, a squeegee to smooth out air bubbles, buffers for the squeegee edges to prevent scratches, and a tucking tool for clean edges and tight spaces. Why VViViD vinyl wraps are better than paint? At VViViD Vinyl, our wraps are more affordable than paint, fully reversible, and protect your car’s original finish. Unlike paint, wraps resist chips, UV damage, and scratches. Plus, they install faster and offer endless design possibilities! Does this vinyl wrap require a heat gun for installation? Yes, you will need a heat gun as the vinyl's adhesive is heat activated. Heat softens the vinyl which makes it more pliable and stretchable, making it a lot either install. Post heating also contributes to the long term durability of the vinyl wrap. Available in countless colors & finishes from realistic carbon fiber to our premium Ultra Finish series, these tapes come in a variety of sizes to suit any application. Perfect for creative projects of all kinds, whether you're customizing your car or adding a sleek touch to architectural designs. • Perfect for Re-Chroming My Tail Lights
Color: Silver Chrome
I ordered this chrome vinyl to cover some chrome areas on a set of rear taillights on an old vintage sports car. I was quoted over $500 to have them re-chromed by a chrome shop. It was not worth that as I could buy new ones much cheaper. It took me a couple of tries to get the chrome on without any anomalies, but it was actually quite easy after I figured it out. I was trying to hold it in one hand while applying the tape. That didn't work. I finally mounted them on the car and then it was a since. The chrome looks as good as a re-chrome job, or at least as far as I am concerned. No one will know the difference. Great product. ... show more

  • Maybe I'm too inexperienced?
Color: Gloss Pink
I was scared to get this after reading so many reviews of pissed off people. I bought it anyways. I'm glad I did. It's perfect. I don't understand how complaints are so plentiful. Maybe I just don't know enough to understand how aweful they say it is?? I have no experience in wrapping a car. But I decided to try it anyways. My work clearly has issues (with the whole car wrap, not this tape) but it got easier as I kept on trying it again on different sections. This tape is easier than wrapping. I used it on a honda accord side runners. About 6" on each side. The width of the tape is perfect. I did used an adhesive promoter on a couple spots due to clear coat flaking and I didn't sand it completely smooth. The spots were rather small and the purpose of taking on a job like that was to hide the ugly paint. So, it did its job. What I have learned is being wrap or tape, use the heat gun on it BEFORE removing the backing. Low heat, not enough to heat it to touch. But enough to relax it. It's been wound for awhile so relax it. It will still want to roll back up when u remove the backing, but not like without heat. It's easier to maneuver and lays flatter with ease. I will say this, if you're serious on wrapping a whole car or just decals, buy more than what's needed and don't be afraid of starting over. Mistakes will happen and won't be fixable. But the next time, it'll be 100% better. Don't think you'll be able to take on a job and nail it on the first try. That thinking will only make your blood boil when it don't happen as planned. ... show more

  • Buy two. Or more
Color: Gloss Red
We have a Ghostbusters sticker on our car (also from Amazon) and kids loved it enough to want more pizaz. With one roll of this red tape I only had enough to do one side. And as you can see it didn’t take all that much. Buy more than one.. Otherwise super easy to stick on and if you’re gentle there’s very little bubbling. Easy to remove and reapply if not straight. Very happy with everything except quantity. Edit: i left the tape on for a good year and when it came time to remove I’m happy to report it wasn’t horribly chippy or difficult at all to come off cleanly. There was some residue but a buffing paste took that away. Very happy with this product. ... show more

  • Not the easiest wrap to work with (read full review)
Color: Matte White
The seller was great, my issue is with the product. I’ve used vvivid brand wrap countless times and it’s by far my favorite, however, I was highly displeased with this particular type or version. For starters it didn’t feel like all the other vvivid products I’ve used (maybe an older version..? Not sure). Typically, you tape off the areas surrounding the section being wrapped which prevents the wrap from sticking. Then once you apply a small amount of heat you’re able to gently lift the wrap because it doesn’t adhere to the tape very well. The same typically applies to most rubber around the windows, etc., because vinyl wrap usually doesn’t stick to rubber sills very well… oh, that wasn’t the case with this product. The adhesive left a residue on the rubber trim when I would attempt to lift around the edges and tuck it into the seams. The adhesive that was left behind on the rubber seemed to almost ball up into tiny little pieces when I tried removing it. And yes, I use a high quality bug & tar remover as well as isopropyl alcohol - which typically takes adhesive off like a charm. The adhesive was entirely too much for a automotive wrap… maybe the aeronautical engineers at NASA should try using this stuff on rockets 🤷🏻♂️. I could have lived with a little extra cleanup but on top of the adhesive mess I also found that it was literally impossible to squeegee the smaller air bubbles out, which has never been the case with ANY of the other vvivid products I’ve used. I assume the excessive adhesive prevented the air pockets from escaping when trying to squeegee them out. After trying to work with this stuff for several hours I threw in the towel. I was left with a lot of adhesive to clean away from the tiny seams and a wrap job that looked like my 12 yr old daughter did it. Anyway, sorry for the long review - just wanted to be thorough in my explanation in hopes that it helps someone else using this particular style of product. (Seller - really sorry for the 3 stars 😕) ... show more

  • Worthless Tape
Color: Carbon Fiber Black
The glue or adhesive used is not as strong as other brands I have used. On HDPE,LDPE, and some other grades of hard & malleable plastics it doesn't stick. The surfaces were cleaned of dust, dirt, debris, oils, solvents & moisture that would contaminate surface & prevent bonding. I even tried using 800 grit sandpaper to abrade the surface after cleaning then recleaning to remove any leftover residue after sanding. That didn't work either. Duck tape, clear packing tape & masking tape all had better adhesion qualities but lack the strength & UV characteristics needed. I have not used or attempted to test its use on any steel, stainless steel, aluminum products nor wood, cardboard or any ceramic materials and do not plan too. On what should have been a one hour job my frustration evel turned into nine & one half hrs of disappointment in wasting the cost of the tape. So as far I am concerned its junk. I will say it did sick to a painted painted surface such as a painted auto body part but it's just not a practical application. So to summarize, I wouldn't advise anyone to buy product for any project because it's worthless as a tape. It gets one star only because I have to give it one to submit the comments. ... show more

  • Not Just For Boats and Cars!
Color: Gloss White
We have a tub surround that was done in three pieces. The guy who did it glued it to a plaster wall and then did a crap job of caulking. I have tried caulk, sealants and caulk tape. All of it is a mess and not easy to remove and replace. This time, I filled the major gaps from his bad jobs with caulk and let it dry for a week. Because of his job, this looks like hell. Then it hit me, I have used this to replace the boot stripe on my boat. It sticks like crazy and is waterproof. Yup, it's around the tub! I creased it in half before taking off the backing, then rolled it back up. Started at one end of the surround and carefully tucked into the corner as I went. The pre-crease helps with this. Went around and burnished it down. It looks neat, clean and you can no longer see the bad job underneath it. We use the same products to clean our surround as the boat, so this should hold up great.-Been on and no peeling, wipes clean like the surround does. ... show more
