  • I used this on my pool table
Size: 12" x 60"
I used this on my pool table as they were thrashed. (see photos) Getting them re-coated would have cost a lot and required dismantling my table. I wrapped all 6 of them in 3 ~ 4 hours (cleaning them first, figuring out how to cut and apply the material etc). Now they look all shiny and clean. Still holding up after maybe 1 ~ 2 months of almost daily play. The swirl marks have gone away, though there is some orange-peel effect still visible. (I may have just needed to sand them down more. ... show more

  • Hard to use and poor packaging
Size: 36" x 60"
I was not impressed. The film backing paper was extremely thick and it came in a flat rectangular box rolled up with no cardboard support tube in the middle. Needless to say it collapsed and flattened forming permanent ridges and wrinkles in the material which made it very difficult to handle. So I spent time flattening the material first under some weight, but that did not help. Heat helped but the application of this matrial to the inside of a plastic 30 gallon bucket was very tedious given the rigidity of the material and its pre-existing wrinkles from the poor shipping of the product. It did not want to lay flat against the walls of the bucket. The material wanted to form a star shape inside the bucket and it would not conform to the shape. The adhesive properties were fairly strong but it has a tendency to fold onto itself and with that said you have to be careful not to peel back too much of the backing paper at one time, otherwise you will spend a lot of time unsticking it from itself like a duct tape mess. This material did release a bit better than duct tape but it was a battle to keep the material from backing up on itself and taking the intended shape smoothly without a lot of bubbles forming the typical air pockets you feel obligated to get out. Major tip is to focus on getting the material to lay flat on a pre-cleaned surface (use isopropyl alchohol) to clean the item to adhear to. Try to get it to lay flat and even on the surface but don't focus so much on bubbles because you'll be able to get them out fairly easily later with a heat gun or hair dryer and a small plastic squeegee. After all that sticking and unsticking and fighting with the wrinkles and thick backing material and clear cellophane protetective wrap on top, I finally managed to get the product to conform to my intended shape. After a few expletives it went on as smooth as I could get it. Still not 100% satisfied with the end result for something I felt that should have taken minutes ended up taking hours. The Vivid product is not easy to work with. I will try 3M next time as I heard it is better. I do not recommend this product for all of the above reasons. It is ultra shinny though. Good luck with vinyl adhesive projects. For me it was a frustrating experience that I eventually ran out of patience for when it was all done. I gave it 3 stars because the material appears to be durable after I spend several hours trying to get it to look good with heat and squeegee and elbow grease. I deduct a couple of stars for the shipping and thick backing material and lack of ease of use. ... show more

  • Excellent for props and models
Size: 6" x 60"
I purchased this chrome vinyl wrap after a friend recommended it. I'd spent several months trying to get an attractive silver finish on a custom-sculpted replica weapon, using a wide variety of metallic paints and finishing sprays that cost a fortune and were a nightmare to work with. After so much frustration, I didn't expect a happy result. So when the vinyl arrived and I gave it a try, it felt like using a miracle product! This vinyl was way tougher and more scratch resistant than I expected, meaning even my clumsy first attempt gave remarkable results. It didn't stretch as much as I expected, but I suspect that's because the only heat source I had to work with was a basic hair dryer. Using an actual heat gun, I imagine it would stretch much farther and more easily. Best of all, it took beautifully to top coats of sealant. Though vinyl is usually a sensitive surface and tends to turn tacky when exposed to solvent-based paints, I was able to apply clear lacquers over this to achieve a variety of effects, both without damaging the vinyl and without losing the stunning reflective properties. I used this to my advantage for several smaller projects. I used several different methods for these; applying matte lacquer over it to create a gorgeous brushed metal look, using gloss lacquer to create a toothy texture to add pearl pigments, and sealing with lacquer and then coating with high gloss polyester resin for a permanent, durable sheen. I also found it works great with candy color transparent acrylics, letting me create custom candy finishes on models in colors that aren't available as vinyl wrap on their own. It's been weeks since I did these and though some of the weapon props get handled and roughed around while they're transported and used for photo shoots, the vinyl looks just as good as the day I put it on. After such a great experience working with this stuff in small scale, I'm discussing a VViViD vinyl wrap with my dad as customization for one of his project cars and we're both excited at the prospect. ... show more

  • Not shiny mirror like chrome and not very easy to work with
Size: 60" x 60"
The chrome is not the shiny mirror alike chrome I was looking for. It's a bit dull. Maybe because I'm not a professional, it's not easy to work with. If you pull hard while wrapping, it'll create some stretch marks on it. It could be because it's chrome color. I've worked with black wrap and didn't experience this issue. ... show more

  • Great stuff!
Size: 17.9" x 60"
This vinal wrap works great, the lines you see on some pictures are on the clear protective sheet that needs to be removed before applying the vinyl. Some reviews state that it doesn't conform even with heat, I'm almost 100% certain that those who can't get it to stretch around corners have not removed the clear top sheet. If you still can't get it to form around edges after removing the top layer than you may have gotten counterfeit cheap Chinese wrap. I'm using it as a temporary fix for the grill parts on my 1951 Ford Shoebox, it came out really nice. Will upload pictures when I get a chance. ... show more
