  • Almost perfect. It works well, but leaves just a little to be desired.
Size: 1ft x 5ft
Despite all of the issues others have reported with poor shipping standards, my roll arrived in good condition. It was shipped in a USPS bubble wrap bad, and stress what a terrible choice that is considering the product. Be prepared to take that gamble when ordering. As far as the product itself, the vinyl worked out pretty well. The air release worked almost perfectly, and almost no air bubbles left behind. The only places that I couldn't get air bubbles out were areas of imperfection on the surface and the vinyl wasn't flexible enough to stay in place. I suspect that it would have worked great with a heat gun, but I did not have one available. It is incredibly thin, and any imperfection in the surface will show through, but for my application it wasn't critical and I'm very pleased with the results. The adhesive seemed to work well enough, but I do have some concern of long-term reliability. I wish the adhesive were slightly tackier, but maybe it'll surprise me moving forward. I'm using this in my car, so it'll see extreme heat and cold temperatures. I'll update and report back if/when the adhesive fails. The surface itself isn't nearly as textured as the product images show, but it is actually not bad. It's most definitely not a "soft touch," but the appearance is almost an exact match for the original vinyl on this car interior part. I used this to replace the failing vinyl on the rear cargo parcel in my 1991 Nissan 300ZX, which they are known for. Conclusion: I'm impressed overall, considering the cost, but if I were to do it again I'd likely visit the local craft store for a similar material and use my own adhesive product... Especially if appearance, texture, and reliability are top priority. If it's going in a vehicle or for another craft project, I think it'll work just fine though. 4/5 stars. ... show more

  • Awesome on glass desktops
Size: 2ft x 5ft
Applied the leather vinyl wrap to a glass top desk and it looks awesome. I hate glass desktops: finger prints, dust, need a mousepad, noisy (seriously, glass is the worst!) This wraps made a huge improvement, and I don’t need a mousepad anymore. Also, the desk is an electronic adjustable desk and I needed to cut out a section of vinyl in the corner for the controls (see picture). I was worried that the vinyl would be prone to peeling on these edges. This isn’t the case. The vinyl sticks to glass extremely well. It would take real effort to pull it off so I’m not worried about peeling any more. Nobody is going to mistake this for real leather but it adds some softness to the glass, and it really looks great. Highly recommend for glass desktops! ... show more

  • Nothing like the picture in the ad
Size: 1.5ft x 5ft
This is completely different than what the image on the ad looks like. This stuff is very shiny with sparkles in it. Looks almost like a black aluminum. Definitely not soft Touch. You can run your nail across it and it makes a loud scratchy noise. Total crap. Going back tomorrow. What a total let down. I'm hoping it was a mistake and they sent me the wrong product. Hope to hear from VViViD soon. ... show more

  • Very, very, very thin
Size: 1ft x 5ft
Paper thin would be an overstatement. The vinyl is considerably thinner than the paper it came adhered to. Thinner than regular contact paper. I used a piece to line the bottom of a 1' x 1' wooden dice rolling tray and it did absolutely nothing to quiet the dice down. And you can see every minute little grain and inconsistency in the wood underneath. And yes the wood was sanded. I would have had to use wood filler and make it as smooth as glass for anything not to show through. And I know it says "fine grain" but if it was any finer it would be microscopic. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is I guess this would have it's uses. For tiny things. I could see if you wanted to wrap a little handle of something or a fancy pen cap... or like doll house furniture or something. I can't believe people have used this stuff on a cracked dashboard or cracked chair. I can't see how the crack wouldnt show through and just look like a horrible patch job. It does seem somewhat durable for how thin it is. So maybe if you had a bonded leather chair where the bonded leather was coming off the undelying fabric but there was no actual rips or tears this stuff would be ok. I just wish I would have realized just how thin it is. Someone should come up with some kind of standardized thickness ratings for this type of thing so you can get what you are expecting ... show more

  • The repair looks just like the original dash
Size: 1ft x 5ft
I have to admit, I was very skeptical about this product, but I had a dash that was damage by a leaking air freshener. Dealer wanted $1800 to fix the dash. Someone suggest this product to me. Here is the repair using the VViViD Black Leather Vinyl Wrap. The dash had an area with a curved area under the clock. Using a heat gun and the wrap conformed to it perfectly. The repair looks just like the original dash. Could not be happier. ... show more

  • Not very sticky
Size: 2ft x 5ft
I bought this product thinking I would be able to apply to the interior plastic pieces (not the trim pieces) in my 2017 Hyundai Elantra. The original interior plastic pieces have the same fine grain texture as the vinyl but I wanted to make them black. So I peeled the backing off and tried applying it to the plastics and it would barely even stick and I even used a heat gun. Trying to wrap the edges was not going to happen with this stuff. I'm sure if I tried using some adhesive spray it would work. But the whole point of the wrap for me was so it was not permanent, and I could peel it off whenever I wanted too. Point being this stuff doesn't stick worth of sh** and just a little bit glossier than what I would have liked. I"ve bought other vvivid products like the dry carbon fiber vinyl for my Yamaha R6 and this is the first of their products to let me down. Kinda disappointed. ... show more

  • 1.5ftx5ft Looks NOTHING like leather. Amazon pic is very misleading.
Size: 1.5ft x 5ft
1.5ftx5ft Looks NOTHING like leather. Amazon pic is very misleading. Looks more like carbon black. NO grain pattern whatsoever. Glued on barcode sticker said fine grain soft leather, but this is simply not the case. Amazon fulfillment should look into whether this item was mislabeled. Seriously. Another reviewer on Feb 2020, included barcode and picture of same vinyl wrap, exactly as mine ... it looks like carbon black ( NOT anything like leather). ... show more
