I bought this thing, assuming from the description that it did not need an app to work. It would not let me get to an initial screen without downloading an app. Luckily, they side loaded the app, because I don't have and don't need a game store logon. Once past that obstacle, the one thing I wanted the device to do was show me a continuous heart rate monitor, but it wouldn't. The display times out in ten seconds, or a maximum of thirty seconds if you change a parameter. So you go to the HRM screen, start the measuring, collects heart rate data and displays it for the rest of the 30 seconds and goes blank, losing the HRM count. To get back to HRM you have to turn the watch back on, it starts in the time screen and you have to prod it several times so it can start a new count of heartbeats. It seems to have its own schedule of collecting heartrate data which it displays on a completely useless, postage stamp size graph with unclear axis labels, either on the watch or the equally useless app. I could not use it for monitoring exercise heart rate, which was the only function I needed. This is a very poorly designed product and the only thing it is good at is collecting data and losing or erasing it. I was so happy to return this piece of ordure. Frustrating and i was so happy to drop the thing off at the UPS store. and erase the silly app.

The step counter and watch work, but the heart rate monitor is inconsistent. It constantly tells me I need to “wear the watch properly” in order to track my heart rate. Yes, I have tattoos and arm hair (which I shaved in the area of the watch) but it shouldn’t be this difficult for the monitor to work, especially considering there are moments it WILL track my heart rate and then a few minutes later it stops again. I’m still happy with the step counter and general watch function, but disappointed in the accuracy of the heart monitor and blood oxygen monitor (which hasn’t worked at all). I’m probably gonna go ahead and go back to a FitBit or something that has worked for me previously since the heart rate monitor is the main thing I’m needing. UPDATE: I was contacted by a representative quickly after posting my review expressing understanding, apologizing for the product not working out, and offering a full refund. I appreciated this and wanted to mention it.

I really enjoyed this product while it lasted. Unfortunately, it completely died after 3 months. I didn't drop it or misuse it, so I'm not sure what the issue was there. I woukd have rated it 4 starts had it lasted longer. You can choose different faces for the watch, which I liked. There are a ton to choose from. You can link it to an app on your phone to keep track of your steps. I did find that the watch kept un-linking itself to my phone so I had to re connect it to the app and few times. That was a bummer but not a huge deal. The battery lasts about 2 and a half days before needing to be charged. I got into the habit of charging it overnight after two days and that worked well. The charger is linked by magnets and if I wasn't careful, sometimes it would disconnect and not charge. But generally, not an issue. It is, in fact, waterproof! It lasted a trip to Hawaii spending time in the pool, hot tub, and ocean. The brightness on the watch face was great. It appeared to be accurate at tracking steps but since I don't count my steps, who knows, LOL.
