This is a suprisingly good little tool! Simple to use, make a little cylinder of clay, load it intonthe extruder. Screw down the top with one of the many dies for the shape you desire. Then SLOWLY twist the handle. The reason I emphasize slowly is that some types of clay will come out kind of crackled or with bubbles. If you slow down, that seems to eliminate that problem. The various Sculpy types of clay work well with this extruder.

I used this to make faux clay sprinkles; it worked really nice. I was able to make any size I wanted and pretty easy to do. I recommend this product!

Make sure you add water to your clay and roll it to the size needed to put in the cylinder so the air is out of your clay I usually pound my clay to get all the air out and slice it of the size I need for the cylinder. I love it!

Item pictures an extra rubber gasket. This is not included. The gaskets wear out fairly quickly if you're using extruder for clay. The item I received was designed for fondant/cake decorating (actually written on the packaging). Though this works for clay it is not as heavy duty as I was led to expect. Update.... To their credit, I was contacted by customer service who responded to this review by changing the picture to better represent the item and offering a rebate. Kudos to them for good customer service.

This tool is a good value for the price. It is well made, study, and easy to use. It make decorating with fondant or gum pastes a breeze for making piping and small shapes. I really like it and wish I had purchased it sooner.

I use this with polymer clay. I have not used all of the disks, but the ones that I have used are great. It's so much more versatile than the old garlic press ever was. It's easy enough that my 8 year old granddaughter is also thrilled to use it when making her creations. Its definitely among my best purchases for crafting purposes.

I've had other extruders for fondant and struggled with them because they were hard to use or broke easily. This one is very easy to use and feels sturdy.
