The one I received smelled like bug spray. It's certain that smell is subjective because many reviews, including Wirecutter, mention liking the scent, but the moment I opened the box, I was turned off by the odor. I hoped that burning it would smell better, but that just made it more apparent. I love the Baltic Amber scent also by Voluspa. Too bad they can't send out little samples. I like the first one so much, I'd love to have another in a scent I'd enjoy. Later edit…I smelled this same scent at Anthropology store. It smelled good. I think the one I received was defective. Explains why everyone else likes the scent—mine smelled totally different! Later...Voluspa reached out to me and replaced the candle, something I hadn't asked for nor expected. They are a great company and I love all five candles I have. ... show more

It makes my house smell like Anthropology! I LOVE the scent and the fact that this burns for hours and I have so much more to burn. It takes me 6 months to get through this candle and that's after burning it for many hours a few times a week.
