  • You can do this!
Color: Ranger 400
Quite frankly, I struggled getting the place ready as a gift for my grandson. I could not get the motor to turn even though I followed the instructions (they are very clear) to the letter. I got nothing. I set the plane aside and came back a few hours later to restart the process. Lo and behold, it worked. I haven’t flown it yet, but I am excited to be there for the time my grandson does indeed fly it! It looks like the material it is made of will take a number of crashes that I know will occur. ... show more

  • Amazing beginner plane
Color: Sport Cub S2
Amazing plane for beginners it was my first plane and would recommend this plane. Only thing Is Beware of strong winds but I live whith strong winds so 🤷 probably good for a max of 30 mph winds but recommend 10 mph winds. Super durable I nose dived into the ground at top speed from 100 feet and plane was fine. ... show more

  • This plane inspired me to get a better plane. Immediately.
Color: Ranger 400
I'm confused by all of the positive reviews for this plane. Maybe I have a defective board, but digging through the 1-star reviews I see others with similar experiences. This plane doesn't work consistently. The flight modes don't behave anything like E-Flite planes with SAFE and it seems to change modes when it takes a hard landing. Constantly having to disconnect and re-connect the battery to get it to a slightly more functional state. I was never able to get "beginner" mode to stabilize the plane, it would just stop responding to control inputs, or become jerky and delayed. It was so bad I thought the rod connecting the elevator was bound up, but after power cycling it goes back to almost-working. One of the biggest problems is that it will get into a state in which the rudder and the elevator don't return to center, so you are always struggling to figure out where center is. But it's not easy to get it flying long enough to realize that because the plane just isn't powerful enough to fly. The thrust to weight ratio is only barely enough keep it moving forward, there's nothing extra to get you out of trouble or even make more than a wide slow turn and the control surfaces don't allow you to make any quick maneuvers or fight any wind whatsoever. You would need a very large open area with absolutely zero wind to have anything approaching a successful flight. If I had access to an indoor football stadium this might work out okay, but I don't. Some good points: - It is durable and can take some hard hits (and it will). - The foam is easy to repair. - The rear-facing prop keeps it safe during landing (crash or otherwise) - Radio binding is quick - The included controller is adequate Some more bad points: - The battery slot was designed for a round battery, but it ships with a flat 1S lipo. There is nowhere to place the batter that it can be secured reliably without wires interfering with the servos. This also means that attempting to balance the plane using the battery position is finicky at best. I was able to shove the battery into the canopy lid, but only after some hot-glue repairs kept it from sliding out without tape. - Rudder is difficult to center, out of the box it was only really able to turn one direction - Elevator was not centered out of the box, full up was barely level, anything else was a nosedive. - There's just not enough throw to control this thing with the small control surfaces. Maybe it's a quality control problem? Conclusion: Get a UMX Turbo Timber and practice in RealFlight - The Ranger 400 was too small, too unstable and not even really worth trying to fix or modify. ... show more

  • Fun to fly
Color: Sport Cub 500
Anyone that has a wife or girl friend or even a first time flyer will be happy with this plane. My sons girl friend has never flown before. She had no problems learning with this plane. I would recommend anyone that wants to learn how to fly give this plane a try.

  • Easy to fly, fun!
Color: Sport Cub 500
This little plane is amazing for the price. 10 years ago this would have been crazy expensive, and this tech wasn't mature enough to be viable....they had tiny RC planes, but they were difficult to fly for your average pilot. The beginner mode and intermediate mode work very well and make flying this little plane a breeze. Any one who knows the basics of flying can fly in beginning mode. I flew it on expert for a little bit, to do some aerobatics, I don't recommend it unless you are VERY experienced. It was really squirrely in expert mode and can get out of hand in hurry, and the wind even a little bit can really mess you up. I have only flown this plane 3 times, once in my front yard, twice in my alley behind my house using the dirt road as a run way. It needs to have a smooth runway or it will nose over. The wheels are very small. I took it off in a track I made with my truck tire and that worked fine, but I wasn't precise enough to land it in the track for both flights back there and it nosed over on the landing from the bumpy road, it landed fine on the black top on the street in front of my house. The good news is NO Damage. I also dropped it from shoulder height while removing the battery, also no damage. The flight times are very long, I didn't notice any decrease in power before I landed and was up each time for several minutes, I didn't time it but it felt like I was flying for a while. Half throttle is more than enough power for normal flying, it still gains altitude even slightly below half throttle. To sum it all up, I highly recommend this plane to any one who knows the basics of flying RC. ... show more
