This has been a fun little purchase. I’ve been flying RC helicopters for several years, decided to slide into the world of RC fixed wing. This little thing, being a styrofoam plane, is surprisingly durable. As one could imagine, I’ve had a few bumps and bangs getting acquainted with the controls, but having a beginners, intermediate, and expert settings lets you get more comfortable with flight control before diving headfirst into an advanced setting that would just dishearten you trying to learn. My ONLY complaint is that the landing gear is basically just for decoration. The wheels, also styrofoam, will not freewheel for any amount of love or money. Therefore I’ve had to learn to float and glide into a controlled crash to land and can only takeoff releasing from my hand, takeoff from the ground is impossible as the plane will just nose forward into the ground since the wheels won’t turn easily. ... show more

It is great for starters, it’s stable. The only problem is it’s wheels there made of foam and come off easily besides that it’s Definitely worth it.

My 13 y/o son got one for Christmas but the box was missing landing gear and the plane looked like it was previously returned and resold by Amazon. I initiated a return to Amazon then Volantrexrc customer service reached out to see what I needed and sent several replacement parts. The plane is so fun to fly we decided to keep the replacement plane too. Beginner mode is fool proof. Intermediate allows loops. Expert mode should be left for true experts. I thought I had a handle on it but once those gyros kicked off a wind gust caused a death spiral right into the pavement. Surprisingly the only thing that happened was the nose cone fell off and the impact caused the prop to get wedged into the cowling body. Once pulled out the plane went back to the sky. Only complaint is sometimes it takes 15-20 seconds for one of the planes to sync with the controller before the prop spins. 4 stars for the plane itself and extra star for the outstanding manufacturer customer service. ... show more

So, the wings and fuselage are made of a tough styrofoam and appear sturdy. The remote control is basic but seems to do the trick. The propellers, however, are ridiculously delicate. We gave this to my little boy (9) for Easter and one of the props broke on the first flight. No biggie, came with a spare so I replaced it. On it's third flight, the spare prop broke. Both props broke while the plane was gliding without power in little to no wind. Other than that, it seems okay. Bottom line, for the money there's no chance I'd buy it again. ... show more
