This is much better than the phone I've been using. I bought this for photos. As far as picture quality, it seems to be as good or better than most phones, right out of the box. I feel like it keeps up with most cameras of higher cost and is superior to anything else at this price point.I'm very new to photography, but was getting some good night shots so far. It's actually better than I thought it would be with those indoors shots under incandescent, fluorescent and LED lighting.I'll be using it for landscapes, nature and taking photos in cities and towns. The photo quality is excellent in my opinion and it works great without being to imposing or cluttered. It turns on in maybe two seconds, so I can stop the bike, be sure of a great picture and be moving again, making great time. Some days I get rained on really good and this camera is a perfect addition to my contingency gear. It should also do well in the colder conditions. It feels durable and I'm sure it will do well if I drop it or if it gets crushed around in my baggage on a tough day. The firmware on the camera takes a day to learn, with all the little extras embedded in there, but after that navigation is relatively easy. Even though it is I think classified a "point and shoot" everything is customizable- and even more so, once you know a couple of tricks that are mentioned online in various places. Most anybody however, can simply pick this up, click it on auto mode and get great pictures without confusion.     • Absolutely Fantastic Starter Camera - 5 Stars!
So far after checking to make sure everything works as described.... this is an amazing point and shoot camera.I needed a smaller camera to fit in pocket or the bag I carry main camera in... this works perfect.... bought this also for the 4K capability and the post focus ability and it all works fine in this small compact camera... I am still messing around on this, so I have not used this in a real scenario scene, only for testing in house and outside, and I am impressed with video and picture quality in such a small camera... zoom works great and better than all other point and shoot cameras I have used, but I would not zoom in on subjects to max, sharpness gets very dull and cloudy.... now with my camera, changing focus points in post focus was a little hard to figure out, but once you figure this, I love this feature, and you won't find this in any camera or phone that I know of. Now the flash mode on and off was a little difficult to figure out on my camera, because you can't use flash in 4Kburst or in post focus modes.There are many many functions on this camera I have not yet played with, like changing picture scenes, expressive, monochrome, high key etc, for giving your pictures even more style... I also love taking video in 4k and freezing frames in action and using that pic to print off.I am getting a charge cable, a strong good SD card and a couple more batteries for this, because you do drain the battery quick when in 4K bursts and using post focusing modes... It's still early to see if this camera holds out long because it just came out, but I highly recommend this. ... show more

Digital cameras have become less popular over the past few years as phone cameras have improved, but having a dedicated camera on hand can be beneficial. This 4K digital camera is a great example of a camera that is affordable, generates high quality videos and photos, and has features that are not available on flagship smartphones. This camera is especially great for younger kids who do not need a smartphone. The camera comes with 2 long-lasting batteries and a 32GB Micro SD card, so you can start capturing videos and photos right away after charging the camera for a couple of hours with the included USB Type C cable. The controls are easy to figure out, and while it's recommended to read the compact manual first, you can figure it out by playing around with it. The indoor image quality is better than expected and the outdoor scenes are amazing. The video quality is respectable with decent audio, especially considering the price point. You can adjust and crop images in post-work because of the high pixel count. The menu is user-friendly and has buttons on the rear of the camera. There is a threaded mount at the bottom of the camera which makes it easy to set up for vlogging, other videos, and time-lapses. It's also remarkable as a webcam. The camera is small and easy to carry, and you can attach the included lanyard wrist strap and use the felt bag to protect it if you want. This is a great starter camera, backup camera, on-the-go shooter, or dedicated vlogging/webcam unit, and for the price, it's hard to find something better. ... show more

    • A great camera for the cost
I purchased this camera for my son who aspires to be a content creator, with the flip-out screen and mic input being the key features I looked for. These features allow for in-frame monitoring and using a lav mic or professional rode mic for vlogging or run-and-gun shooting. The video quality is impressive, and I chose the 4k option as I believe the YouTube algorithm favors this format. While my son is satisfied with the out-of-the-box colors and saturation, I prefer to adjust these settings in post-production.Although I do not use this camera frequently, my son has used it extensively for hundreds of hours. The buttons are tactile and the half-press for focus is a useful feature. The autofocus is fast and accurate, even when shooting in low light conditions. The camera grip is also a nice addition. The LCD bezels are quite large, but this is not a major issue since the camera will mostly be used on a tripod or selfie stick.
