Bought a new 55” Vizio tv for mom which came with a voice remote. I wanted her to have something similar to me as it helped whenever I would need to explain to her, once again, how to use her tv (which happened pretty much every week). Anyways, from day one the original remote was a pain to use - it worked but to go left on screen, you had to hold down the ring on the left side for a long press, everything else, up down and right were short press. It looked similar to my firestick remote but wasn’t exactly the same I finally decided to try buying a new remote - this new remote came in a few days. It took less than 2 minutes to pair this new voice remote. With your old remote open the tv settings and select “voice remote” then select to pair new remote then switch over to using this new remote. Done. Now this one works so much better, the button arrangement is exactly like the firestick I have. I love my remote as it’s so intuitive and hope my mom likes hers as well. It’s small and fits comfortably in my hand (and my husbands too). Prior cable and direct tv remotes were just giant, ugly, and more complicated than necessary to use. New remote works great, mom is happy she can select apps and channels. Btw, we got her Hulu streaming with Live access so she can see her local channels and then some. Now if only it had a locator - I’m thinking to put an AirTag on it. Oh and for those wanting a second remote, fyi, only one remote can be paired at a time; it forgot the old one and recorded the new one with one click. Oh and don’t forget to get two long-life lithium AAAs for it as it didn’t come with batteries. Highly recommended to everyone with a Vizio. ... show more

    • Works as good as the original.
I bought this remote as a replacement because the old one just wasn’t working. I had ordered a cheap one that didn’t have the microphone and my boyfriend hated it. I don’t use the microphone but he does because he hates typing or dealing with tech. It works great. The size is the same as the old one and the buttons are where they should be . When it comes the voice control, you have to pair it. Go to setting on your Vizio television, mine is all setting click on it then go to voice control. It will automatically tell you to click on it he microphone and mute button (speaker with an x) at the same time till the red light flashes and wallah! It’s paired! Hope this helps someone out there. Also the cheap one I ordered was $10 this was only $4 more, it’s a great value for the money for sure. ... show more

    • The voice command DOES work
This remote is perfect in every way! After reading the reviews about the voice command not working, I was hesitant to buy it. But, for $10 I thought I'd give it a try. I have a Vizio V55J01 tv and the remote that came with it was horrible. This remote worked as soon as I put batteries in it, but the red light kept blinking and the voice mic button did nothing. I reached out to customer service and in 10 min the remote worked perfectly. You must go to the system settings on your television and pair the remote in order to get the microphone button to work. Holy smokes! I can click the buttons in the next door room and it works! This is a replacement to the replacement of the oem model. Oem rocked, but I have heelers, and a loud delivery man worked my dogs up and one ate the majority of the remote. Doggos fine, and looking for seconds, but I got a replacement and it was utter trash, work only if I point it right at the corner of the TV. The buttons gave me blisters, because it was trash. But THIS remote is just like the oem. Don't forget to pair the remote voice thing with ur tv! ... show more

    • Mic does not work
I took two stars off because I’m very disappointed that the microphone button does not work, which defeats the purpose of me getting this. I will be returning this item. Other than that, the buttons work and still get the job done, but the mic not working is unacceptable. A few physical differences: The real Vizio remote is shiny and this one is matte. This one says OK in the middle and the real Vizio remote does not. And the red light on this one continuously blinks. I would’ve kept it if the mic worked, but since it doesn’t, I’ll figure something else out. ... show more
