    • Great remote way better than the factory remote!
I recently bought two Vizio televisions, a V-Series and Vizio's best television a P-Series. Unfortunately the new remote design that Vizio designed, is very cheap and too basic. The volume control, and the mute button are on the side of the remote. Which I found difficult to use. The Voice Control is a major reason why I chose to stay with Vizio. I purchased this XRT260 remote to replace the one that came with the TV. At first the Voice Control did not work on the new remote, and the remote was slow to react. This was my fault, and I found out the following: You must go into your televisions (all settings), then select (system), then (voice remote). Then unpair your original remote first! Then you can pair the new remote. Since I did that, it has worked seamlessly. The new remote is a great improvement over the factory remote! I like how the volume, and mute button are on the front of the remote. I also like the closed caption button on the front of the remote. It is overall a much better designed remote and doesn't act and feel so cheap. ... show more

So out of the box (there are no instructions) the remote worked-ish. There was a lag and the voice didn't work. I looked at other reviews, and followed the instructions to pair the remote via system settings. That immediately got rid of the lag, but the voice button still didn't work. I tried unpairing and pairing a few times. Still didn't work. I took out the batteries and put them back in. At that point, the voice started working. I don't know if removing the batteries did it, or it just needed a bit of time, but eventually the voice button did start working. ... show more

    • The voice command DOES work
This remote is perfect in every way! After reading the reviews about the voice command not working, I was hesitant to buy it. But, for $10 I thought I'd give it a try. I have a Vizio V55J01 tv and the remote that came with it was horrible. This remote worked as soon as I put batteries in it, but the red light kept blinking and the voice mic button did nothing. I reached out to customer service and in 10 min the remote worked perfectly. You must go to the system settings on your television and pair the remote in order to get the microphone button to work.
