  • Much better then I expected
First, I have been playing guitar on and off for 50+ years now and since everyone I know seems to have an acoustic guitar so I wanted something to add some depth to the music. I had been wanting an inexpensive acoustic bass guitar for a while now just for that reason. My first band I landed up being the bass player and since then bass playing has come a long way from being just a back up instrument to being up front so I still have a lot to learn on bass. I was taking a chance with this guitar thinking it couldn't be much for only $110 but I was wrong. First claims was it was hand crafted and from what I can tell there are no flaws in the construction and looks good. So I tuned it up and started playing some old songs on it and there was no fret buzzing and the action is really good all the way along the neck. I am very impressed with the quality of this guitar so far. Another impressive thing is that I have owned a lot of mid priced guitars that were good but the company mass produced them and didn't even bother putting serial numbers on them for identification. This guitar comes with model and serial numbers just like my expensive guitars did. Does that mean anything, to me it does because I have an antique guitar that has the serial number of T014 and a lot of people would love to get there hands on it. But back to this guitar, I am really glad I bought this one and will be using it quite often even though I'm primarily a 6 string player. I had read others talking about the strings and that is a personal choice. I wasn't expecting much but the strings are pretty decent from my point of view and a beginner could learn a lot just using those strings. I gave it 5 stars considering its value for price ration and it is much better then many guitars in that price range. Also I got the blue one for nostalgia reasons since my first guitar was blue and also mo one else I know plays one so there won't be any confusion. Final rambling thoughts, you can't go wrong with this one. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good
It’s really hard to find a cheap instrument that sound good but this bass is pretty decent. Acoustics are great and I can actually hear it well enough too jam and practice unplugged with friends. I tried some expensive acoustic basses and I could barely hear it unplugged. The bass that I received in particular had one single problem. One of the tuning machines didn’t work. But that’s an easy fix, just buy a set of tuning machines in case yours has problems too. Still a good deal. Sounds great plugged in too. I’m super surprised at how good it sounds and how well it plays for the price. After changing the tuning machines, I would totally gig with it if I had to. ... show more

  • Decent bass, Re-string for best results
For an acoustic bass under $120, this is definitely a good purchase. It does look like a work of art. A few things were loose here and there, so a once over is recommended before play. The stock bass strings just didn't feel or sound right, so I immediately replaced them with Fender acoustic bass strings. The sound is greatly improved with actual acoustic bass strings. I do recommend you clip the strings at the bridge for ease of removal. The E string in the new set was a 100 and I had a little difficulty stringing it. I wouldn't try anything thicker. I did notice the fretboard is shorter than any other "full size" bass I own. Things are a little easier to manage. All in all, this bass is 4.5 star quality, I raised my score to a 5 star rating due to the company's customer service. The tuner was defective. I was taken care of quickly and effectively. If you are considering purchasing this bass, I recommend going for it. It is not top of the line, but it felt and sounded better than my Ibanez. It is perfect for a beginner. ... show more

  • good bass but only to "play" at home. Not to make music.
it's discalibrated and the bridge and saddle are plastic made. That makes impossible or almost impossuble to reduce the high of the saddle , which by the way is too high, the strings are more than 1 cm away from the fingerboard. Having said that, I recomend this bass ONLY to those who wanna make noise at home, not for jamming or session of course. I know how to play the bass and I didnt have one , I bought it knowing that it would be cheap made. My rating is good because in spite of the quality, it fullfill my need to spend time playing. I dont recoment this bass to beginners because or the plastic part, you will spend money in calibrating and etc. Plus the tuner is too cheap. ... show more

  • Good quality for very good price
Deep rich tone, smooth feel on neck and bridge. Tuner doesn't work though. Nice gig bag with a few big pockets. You can't beat the price for the quality.

  • It's a good cheap guitar
Great for beginners. Good enough for a casual player but I wouldn't recommend for a serious musician.
