The paint is good and the colors are great- but- you're going to want to get some reducer to thin it out some. The viscosity seems to vary from bottle to bottle. Not much, but noticeable. I add about 5 drops Createx reducer to a 1/4 bowl and it blows well. If it's a little thin I just go over it again after it's dry. The colors are great. No complaint there at all. Affordable, but just need a little work. I've had a couple that were thick enough that I had to do a complete tear down to clean up, but using reducer eliminates that problem. Check a couple youtubes on paint thinning. It's not that hard and it's far less time consuming that having to pull your needle to clean your airbrush out. One tip on thinning in the bowl- after mixing, cover the bowl and let it set for 5-10 minutes. Blow the first shot at your backstop and then it's going to be fine. Brush your needle tip frequently.

I have only been skirting around the idea of doing a lot of airbrush work, instead favoring my trusty classical brushes. A lot of it had to do with pigment load. I get why these paints have to be thin...but as a lifelong oil painter there is just something I love about heavy pigment loads and even impasto. Having zero texture just seemed boring to me, on top of lackluster paints. Now, to be fair, I never ventured into high end paints...couldn't see a reason to spend that on something I wasn't really enjoying. But these paints have a surprising pigment load. Or maybe it has just been that long, I guess I don't know for sure. But I know I don't remember there being this much vibrance to the colors I tried before, much less in a first pass of thin coats. In oils I use a sfumato method, so much of airbrush appeals to me, if the colors can match the intensity of the oils I love...and these just might. I'm actually pretty impressed, and looking forward to using them again. Apparently I'll need to get some cleaner first though...

The picture above is sampling some of the colors with the airbrush gun. They have good viscosity and they blend well. They also store well, which is not always the case with plastic bottles. $33 for 30 decent-sized bottles, a very good price. Recommended.
