  • Super product if chained to a desk. Super product if chained to a desk.
Normally I don't take the time to write reviews however, I love this product! This is my third VIVO purchase over the last three years. My first desk riser is the standard version I installed at my desk at work. I'm a trauma nurse exec and don't sit well for long periods that the paperwork of the leadership jobs require. These desks are perfect for anyone who is used to being active and has to be at a desk for any significant portion of their day. For the standard version I installed the VIVO riser under my desktop after detaching the desktop from its base. Handled the weight of the top. Charts dual monitors and keyboard tray like a dream for the last 3 years. I had the company purchase another one for our PI nurse who wanted the same set up after seeing mine at work. I am transitioning to a work from home position and purchased the L-shaped version from VIVO. Again got a quality product that fit well for my needs and custom desktop I made for my specific size needs. Pros: Room for keyboard tray under the corner angle of the desktop. Super sturdy base and riser construction. Adjusts to multiple lengths on both sides to meet custom needs and maximize desk space, can adjust compactly as well. Used 3/4" plywood for desktop and is very sturdy when affixed to the desk. ***pay attention to the desktop thickness and the length of the screws in the hardware kit as they may go through the desktop if too long so wa spacer or washer may be helpful so your desktop isn't damaged. This is a user warning not a product issue. *** Desk riser mechanic works as it should, smooth transition from each desired level. Cons: Instructions could be clearer. If you haven't routinely put furniture together you may get confused as to which screws they mean for each part so check the key twice or you'll be redoing the work. Overall great desk base, works as advertised and I look forward to using it daily. I can make it through the work day and still be comfortable when I want to work standing. Thanks for a great product, work on the directions please. ... show more

  • Great quality and value
I own two of these. One purchased a couple of years ago, and a second one more recently for an additional desk. I’ve had zero issues with the unit I’ve used daily for a few years, even with people routinely sitting in the edge (not during motion). High quality black finish, extends higher than cheaper legs which is helpful for wire organization while seated in a desk chair m, and came well packed in multiple boxes. I purchased a four leg deskhaus peak pro for my personal desk at home, but I’m in no way feeling the need for anything different for the two units at work that I use daily. ... show more

  • Sturdy Desk and Great Customer Service Sturdy Desk and Great Customer Service
Like others I was hesitant to order an expensive purchase with only ~100 reviews on Amazon and minimal other on line reviews - but glad I did. I had evaluated the other primary offerings in standing desks but the $1,000+ price tags for similar frame only options had kept me away. I am glad I found this frame options and hope it lasts long term. I purchased unfinished 25" depth birch butcher block counter tops at home depot; 6' for the main side and 4' for the return. Finished with stain and 4 coats of polyurethane to make a great surface. Real wood desk tops add significant costs to the other big name options on line compared to the cost of the raw counter top and my time. PROS: -Very sturdy. At seated height I notice no movement. At full standing height a very slight wobble in only one of my monitors with bumping desk but very minimal). The L shape of the desk and stiff top likely aids in the sturdiness. The weight limit was noted at >300 lbs in the description. My top is approx 100 lbs with monitors, laptop, PC etc add under another 100 lbs and desk has no issues with the weight. I am glad I purchased this model over the other slightly cheaper L frame from Vivo, as this model has a higher weight capacity. -Easy to assemble. The instructions were reasonable, a few things could have been better defined in the instructions. The assembly video helped but NOTE the video is slightly out dated, some of the bolt attachment placements have changed since the video. Due to the weight of my top, I assembled the frame and placed upright without the top, but would still recommend an extra set of hands when flipping the desk due to size and weight of the lifting legs. -Control panel: A memory with display control panel with display adds to the cost of other brand desk. The included control panel allows for 3 memory settings, display of height in cm or inches, can set the thickness of your desktop to be accounted for in the height display, and you can turn on or off the auto-screen lock. This was a complaint in other reviews of always having to hold down M for 3 seconds to unlock, this option can be turned off so you only have to touch the screen to "wake" it from sleep mode. -Customer Service - I had a couple questions I called (was not a product issue as turned out I didn't read the instructions closely enough) - both times a customer service rep quickly answered and also engaged their tech rep for assistance and resolved my question in minutes. That gave me confidence if have an issue in the future they will be supportive. -Shipping: While was not prime shipping, free shipping was quick via Fedex. I ordered on a Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving and received Friday afternoon. Item arrives in two boxes and was well protected with surrounding foam. The box handle had ripped out when delivered but no damage to inside contents. Cons: Honestly minimal other than the assembly instructional video could be updated to current version and slightly improved manual to more easily see what size bolts go in which locations, but once I got started the assembly it all made sense. Tips: Cable Management - plan out your cable management approach. I used zip ties to neatly arrange the lifting leg and controller cables under the desk, attaching the wires to the frame. Purchase an under desk cable management tray or basket to hold power bricks and allow routing loose cables to where you want to run them to the floor. I also purchased the Vivo articulating cable management "snakes" to manage the cables from the desk to the floor. I purchased longer power cables to my PC, power bricks etc - as you need to ensure you account for the additional length when the desk is fully raised. ... show more

  • Very sturdy, smooth, quiet, but you need additional hardware!
OK, first off I really like this desk frame. It's quick, reasonably quiet, and very precise with how it moves. I like how it speeds up and slows down a bit before it stops. The memory functions are handy, I haven't used the timer feature yet but it's cool to have, and I think it will probably outlast me. It's a bear to assemble with one person, and a bit tricky with all the holes you have to drill. I wish it came with threaded inserts, slightly oversized holes in the brackets, and machine screws. Otherwise you will have a 200 lb desk to move in one piece! So yeah, the desk instructions show a single piece sort of L-shaped desk top being installed on the frame. You are likely going to have two desk top pieces, though. You will need brackets with screws to level out your two desk tops, as there is no shelf where the side/return portion of the desk connects to the "main" portion of the desk. The top of my desk return was sitting about 3/16" lower than the main part of the desk as a result. I got some little plate brackets (2-hole steel plates with screws) and put 4 of them on there and it works great now. Make sure to install the cable tray before you install the desk tops. It's not a requirement, but it looks a little shaggy under the desk now (and I'm not wrestling with these desk pieces again). That said, would love it if the manufacturer could sell a hardware kit for 2-piece desks which also includes machine screws, threaded inserts, leveling plate brackets, and a few paper sheets with hole locations and a little nail or needle you could use to mark hole locations on the desk pieces. The way the instructions want you to set the desk up is difficult because you need two people to manually flip over this huge desk frame after drilling holes in the desk pieces while they are on the floor, then finish assembly of the desk, then actually screw the desk top pieces to the desk frame. It would be easier to assemble the frame upright and use a paper guide with pre-measured hole locations. The paper would be something you tape to the end of the underside of your desk top pieces after you align them on the floor and user painter's tape to hold them together (so holes don't shift). You mark hole locations using a little tool to give the drill a spot to start and then you lean the desk top piece up against something sturdy to drill the holes (so you don't accidentally drill into your flooring if you punch through the desk. You then install the threaded inserts and place the desk tops on the desk frame, adjusting its length. Install the main desk top first, then install the supporting brackets for the desk top return and install the return/side desk top. Install screws (but don't tighten all the way), adjust the frame until the desk top pieces align, then finish tightening all of the screws (including the support brackets for the side/return desk). Tighten up all the desk frame worm/grub screws that fix the frame rails in place. Whee, it's done. As a summary of additional hardware I should have bought and the appropriate size to get: (20) #10 internally threaded wood inserts (1/2" length) and (20) #10 x 5/8" machine screws. About (10) extra 1/8" rubber washers, 1"x1.5" square. (4) metal plate brackets with (4) wood screws (you can use the wood screws that came with the desk kit, as it comes with permanent screws you can install). Also buy a bunch of extra adhesive or screw-in-place black plastic cable organizers/clips and a mountable power strip. This desk comes with (2) adhesive cable clips to supplement the cable tray to organize the motor cables, but you'll need more for all your computer stuff. You'll want a power strip mounted to the desk to ensure any cables don't get pulled upon when the desk is raised to its upright position. You may also want under-desk baskets/organizers to mount to the desk top, but I haven't found anything good yet. ... show more

  • Best auto-lift standing frame I have ever used!
This isn't the easiest to assemble: it is heavy, a fair amount of hardware (plus extra if you want to alter the configuration to right facing L), three motors with cables, etc. But, it is very well worth it! It is insanely sturdy; mine has 1.5" thick walnut butcher blocks, each 25" wide and 60" long, which is a lot of weight from the wood alone. I have two 40" monitors and a handful of books, and the thing still lifts up without a hitch and with seemingly little effort. There is a built in sensor if the desk hits an obstacle while rising/falling, the manual programming is simple to use (and change), and you can mount the switch anywhere you like on the underside of the table top. I also mounted a mac mini and a powerstrip for a clean look. The base is somewhat more wide and bulky than I imagined, so keep that in mind if you are trying to fit it into a tight corner. The only downside is, if you need to configure into a right-facing-L, you will need to do that on your own, which isn't too difficult (I used 2-3 flat mending plates, that are hidden underneath anyway, so you can't even notice). The other hardware provided is quality enough to get the job done and still have a sturdy desk that can hold a serious amount of weight. I use it standing and sitting, and my partner does as well (we have a height difference of about 9 inches, fyi), which is simple to measure/program to desired height(s). I have no regrets about going with this stand; even at a slightly higher price point, the quality is absolutely worth it, especially if you plan to use the desk for many years! ... show more

  • I'm in love! I'm in love!
Been wanting a sit/stand desk since I stream on Twitch full time so I spend a lot of time at my desk playing games and creating content. I have a lot of stuff on my desk and knew I wanted an L-shape to fit everything and the fact that this is adjustable to table top lengths is *chef's kiss*. I'm average height at 5' 6" so this is definitely tall enough for me! Assembly was good, the directions are good enough but some stuff isn't completely explained and the pictures are a bit too small to really see where things need to go. Especially if it's something that isn't really mentioned. I do like the included cable management tray! Can fit a decent amount of cables in it and the power cable is nice and long. Still have some more cable management to do, the bars going underneath do make you think about how you can fit everything. (please enjoy my S tier cable managment). The leg leveling things on the bottom of the feet adjust to make it level depending on how angled your floor is. So that's pretty neat. The touch pad works well! Have to press and hold to wake it up after not using it for a bit. But really easy to work! While building and cable managing I did get E06 on the screen which is the "ay yoo there's something blocking my way, pls move it tysm" even though there wasn't but just tapping it again it was all good. Now that I have everything set up and cable managed, Haven't gotten any error codes since. It's quiet enough that while I'm streaming it can't be heard. But YMMV depending on the type of mic and mic settings you use. The video kinda makes it seem loud but it's not THAT loud imo. Very much in love with this desk! Enjoy the cat photobombs!! ... show more

  • BEST DESK EVER
This desk is super easy to put together and customer service is GREAT! I purchased the desk frame from Amazon, fairly easy to put together, I added some other VIVO accessories such as the standing mat and the keyboard tray and overall this thing is a BEAST! Pros: 1. Super quiet, smooth operation. 2. Customer service is FANTASTIC! Upon completion, one of the legs had a problem and after a phone call to the manufacturer they shipped me a new one right away. 3. Heavy duty, I have 1.5" Butcher Block on top of the frame making it incredibly sturdy. The weight rating for this desk frame is higher than the others I saw on Amazon and other websites which made me feel comfortable adding the butcher block. 4. The sizing is flexible, although it was my intent to max out the L design. You certainly can go smaller if you'd like. 5. Great warranty, this model comes with a three year warranty in case something goes awry. Cons: 1. Only one L frame configuration, the opposite of what I needed. I'm fairly handy so I was able to modify the frame's direction. If you read this VIVO, please make the design bidirectional! It's just an extra weld plate, easy. Overall, really enjoying this desk and the additional flexibility to sit/stand while I work from home. I have a feeling my kids will be fighting for my desk when they get older! If you are considering buying this frame I would highly recommend it. With a little time and elbow grease, you'll be up and running in no time. ... show more

  • Doesn't raise or lower - Unusable Desk
Zero stars if I could. The product came missing the motor controller and control panel. Ya know, the thing that raises the desk from knee height to a desk height usable by an adult. This means the desk sits lower than tables in a first grader's classroom and doesn't perform the main selling point of the desk - raise up and down. The product assistance team sent out the missing parts which guess what - didn't work. Another call to the product helper people and I found out I need the updated control unit and panel. After four more trips around the sun I got another box of parts and thought I would finally have a working desk! Nope - I opened the box to find the same exact part number for the motor controller that DOESN'T WORK. I've worked from my kitchen table for the last 7 moons and at this rate it might be permeant. I've re-written my review carefully selecting my word to review the "product" and not the "seller" since my last review wasn't posted. This explains my interesting choice of words to not flag Amazon's keyword bot. ... show more
