When my iMac monitor went kaput (but the display-ports out still worked), I used this arm and the VIVO Quick Attach VESA Adapter Plate Bracket Designed for Dell to cobble together a workaround, instead of spending THOUSANDS on a new iMac to replace my workstation. I just stashed the iMac under the desk, and used these VIVO products to save me a ton of money. The two Dells are slightly different models of an IPS panel (1920x1080)- not as good as the iMac monitor, but I'm planning on swapping out for better ones soon. The monitors are mounted using the VESA adapters, which actually add an additional few inches out front, but all of it hangs well, and is very stable. I chatted with VIVO before purchase, and they assured me all of this would work. It did. Super pleased with the build quality, packing, and finish. All perfect. The only ding I could come up with, is that the logo on the pole is not centered when assembled (ha!). That, and the inherent design of not having 100% independent arms are the only cons I can come up with... the rest is all pros. I thought I might drill a hole in my desk initially, but even my 15kg monster kitty can't pull this rig down with the stand as is, so I am totally happy about that, since many of the reviews here mention instability. One side the monitor is easily jiggled, I contacted customer support and was given the advice to tighten it. I couldn't figure out what was off about this stand for a while, I could never get the monitors lined up quite right. The arms aren't level! They both have a downward angle from the center post. The whole arm, on both sides, jiggle up and down at the main joint that attaches to the post of the stand. No matter how much you try to tighten them they always have some play, even if you could tighten it enough to not move, the range of motion (which I would assume you don't want in a straight arm type of stand) would never even allow the arms to be level. ... show more

This stand was pretty easy to assemble. Most of the tools were already included aside from a Phillips screw driver. Please be careful of extending the monitor attached to the stand out front too far or the stand might tilt forward depending on the weight of your monitors. I have two 24 inch monitors. One Asus with a curved back and one BenQ with a flat back. Despite some cons I still give this stand a 5/5. Pros: Mobile if you ever want to adjust your stand. Gives the option to use the stand itself and also provides the option for you to secure your stand to your desk (if you have a drill to drill a hole into it). So it would solve the problem of the stand tilting forward if you really want your monitors to come out forward. Provides materials for both curved back monitor and straight back monitor. The price is reasonable compared to all the other stands that I saw. Cons: Stand will tilt if you pull your monitor out forward if the stand is not secured to the desk but it isn't a major concern for me because I like where my monitor and stands sit. Broke the wire management clip because I was being heavy handed so be careful when you attach them because part of the clip isn't that strong for heavy hands. ... show more

My needs for this monitor stand are a little different than most people. Most people will have 2 monitors that are the same size and usually the same brand -- meaning they'll be the same height and weight on both sides. But I wanted something that was flexible, strong and solid allowing me to put a 24 in TV on one side and a 20 inch VGA monitor on the other. This stand works very well. I also wanted to be able to switch out the 20 inch monitor and put my 15 inch laptop in its place or maybe my 7 inch tablet. My monitors weigh 9 pounds for the 24 inch and 11 pounds for the 20 inch. The laptop is about 5 pounds. The monitor stand out of the box is perfect. The stand if supporting like sized monitors is very stable. For what I'm doing I screwed it down because I want to be able switch out monitor and laptop without asking for help. I love it because it was easy to put together and meets my rather unusual needs. The pictures of the back plates show the thumb tightening screws working for the monitor but not for the TV -- I had to get creative e and used some nuts to act as spacers -- the thumb screws were too long. The design is well thought out. You have full range of motion, cord management and even a place to put allen wrenches needed for adjusting positions. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. I buy a lot on Amazon and this is the best designed product I've purchased for a long time. ... show more

I purchased this stand to hold a 27" Acer Predator monitor and a 27" Acer Nitro monitor respectively. The right arm that was to hold my Predator was either stripped on arrival or failed to hold to up to the weight. Despite multiple attempts to loosen and tighten the joint with the included tools (Allen wrenches) it failed to stabilize. The monitor display was always tilted downward. Also, despite the claim that the stand can hold up to two 27" monitors, it IS NOT heavy enough to keep that kind of weight up. If I so much as bumped my desk, the monitors and stand would fall forward. If you have purchase this stand with the intention of using it for larger displays, be prepared to drill through your desk as shown in the manual. I DO NOT recommend this product. Especially if you have larger displays. I was pleased how quickly Amazon was in getting the return processed going and completed. Thanks Amazon! ... show more
