These clamp-on desk shelves turned out to be one of the best additions to my workspace. Installation was super quick — just clamp them on and tighten — and they feel very sturdy once in place. I have this pet peeve between a table and a shelf. A shelf is somewhere you store things. A table is something you keep clear so that you can use. But this isn't always practical, and tables tend to accumulate stuff. These little shelves help clear stuff off the table so you can use it again. I have 4x of these shelves now, attached to several different workbenches. From 1.5" thick butcher block, to a 0.5" thinner desk. These helped declutter my lab, solder station, optics bench. One of these now has my oscilloscope on the top shelf, a power supply and signal generator on the lower, and another large power supply just fits underneath with room for air flow. Greatly freeing up some crowded lab table space. Sturdy enough for whatever you can fit on them, and easy to move or reposition as needed. Really good idea. And more versatile as they can be assembled in several shelf heights, or even for under the table. One thing they could use is some non-marring padding to protect the finish on the desk/bench. Mine are all on tables with ESD mats, but the clamps could certainly mar a surface. Maybe some kind of rubber strips/pads? Or delrin sheets? Also, the two little sticker hole covers are kind of cheesy, but not needed. Overall, great product. Wish I had found them earlier. Definitely going to be additions to any new lab tables. ... show more

My only two gripes about this shelf is that the shelf appears to be bigger in pictures until you actually have one. As for quality, it is definitely hard metal and sturdy. I read the 1-star comments, and it all seems to be the same, you can't please everyone. But calling this shelf flimsy? far from that. screws fit fine as long as you have some patience and are good with your hands. Negative comments calling it cheap, but i bet i could hold both ends at the bottom and crack this over someone's head and the shelf won't break at all. so that the best example i can give to the sturdiness. The other gripe is that the bottom fastening should be built in, like a tightening handle attached, not an allen key because of course we may lose it. So in final thought, its a good shelf, nice for a small add-on to any desk. ... show more

My son has a small standard desk with a glass top. But he has all these peripherals he uses for gaming and the desktop is always a mess of stuff, with very little room. He got two new monitors (and their stands were even worse spacehogs) so i suggested he get this and a dual monitor mount to help reclaim some space (my own office is setup with multiple vivo monitor mounts and they cant be beaten) He loves it all so much!!! And even got a clamping cup holder too lol ive created a monster. I love vivo mounty goodness. Just what I needed to get my router and external hard drive off the floor. Now i can properly vacuum and sweep without having to get on the floor and lift cables up and risk cords and wires getting sucked into the vacuum. The clutter of cables, wires, and router trapped a lot of pet fur, dust and lint in their vortex and this product along with two cable boxes purchased from another Amazon merchant have my home office looking so orderly. This product looks good, I got the black melamine shelves. It's a good weight but not too heavy for my glass desk. Adjustable installation to fit different width desks. I needed the smallest setting since my desktop is glass and thinner than most. Glad I bought it, would recommend and buy again if I needed it. The legs are metal and the screws all fit the legs, etc. easy to put together. The hardest thing was deciding if I wanted it to hang under the desk or install it above the desktop. The shelves have some flexibility for adjusting to fit a small array of items you want to store on the shelf. ... show more
