So glad I found this to replace another in the dishwasher brands that was lemony but costly. Use this in my dishwasher, works beautifully except on my ceramic coated pan. Keeps my dishwasher sparkling clean. My husband uses to clean his distiller which makes distilled water for his planting. I bought this citric acid to make my own dishwasher detergent, and it works wonderfully. I mix a little less than a tablespoon of citric acid with super washing soda and baking soda, and the results are excellent. My dishes come out clean, fresh, and without any toxic residue. Occasionally there’s a slight cloudiness, but it wipes away easily with a damp dish towel as I’m putting the dishes away…most of the time they’re shiny and crystal clear right out of the dishwasher. I appreciate that I can get great results while knowing exactly what’s going into the detergent. The quality is high, the price is very reasonable, and the cost savings compared to store-bought detergents is huge. If you’re looking for a versatile, effective, and affordable citric acid for DIY cleaning recipes, this is a fantastic option. Highly recommended!

I purchased this looking for a more affordable alternative to pricy espresso machine descaling solution, and this bag fit the bill! I have a Breville Bambino Plus, and the machine comes with one pouch of brand-official descaling powder for your first descaling cycle. After I ran out, I searched for tons of alternatives. Urnex’s Dezcal came up as an option and seems to be very popular, but I wasn’t willing to spend that much for a handful of cleanings. Citric Acid does the job just as well for a fraction of the price — such a better value! Descale Recipe: All you need is 1tbsp of Citric Acid powder (or just 20g) per liter of water. Mix your citric acid with the water and fully dissolve it with a good stir before loading your machine with the descaling solution, run your descaling cycle, then rinse out your water tank and replace with fresh coffee water (I use Crystal Geiser spring water from California in my espresso machine! It’s recommended by LaMarzocco as an ideal coffee water. Pro tip!). And bam. A perfectly descaled machine and great tasting coffee! :) This particular bag was very affordable, and the fine grain dissolved quickly with a stir. Highly recommend, and it worked really well! :) So glad I opted for this instead of pricier options.

For what I use it for, it's perfect. I often put a teaspoon or two once a week in the toilet bowls overnight and it keeps the limescale and calcium from building up. Will remove old buildup quickly as well, if left overnight. If the buildup is thick, you may need to lightly scrub with a non-scratching scouring pad or toilet scrubber brush after an overnight soak. A teaspoon or two in the dishwasher will help keep buildup off the stainless and removes the white haze on glasses and crystal. You may need to soak the hazy crystal in a mix of citric acid and water if it that's bad. This brand is also food grade, so if you suffer from calcium oxalate kidney stones, a pinch in every glass of water will help keep stones from forming. For active kidney stones, there is evidence found online to suggest it may reduce existing stone size, over time. Keep in mind being food grade doesn't mean you should consume large amounts. Citric acid is strong enough to irritate the stomach lining. A literal pinch a few times a day works fine for me without stomach upset. Try one pinch a day and move up from there.

Where is this product then all my life! I read recently.what a wonderful cleaner it is & they weren’t kidding! I’ve used it to clean bird baths, hummingbird feeders, toilets, showers, sinks. It dissolves, lime scale, and soap, scum if you let it sit for a little bit. it’s nontoxic. and can be used almost anywhere and on anything. I love it.

As a last resort to using less toxic things to clean my toilet bowl, I was finally able to remove the brown built up gunk that wouldn't budge at the bottom of the bowl. It's effective at removing the stains too. If you shut off your water, flush most water out and spread some citric acid to let it sit over night, it'll slowly lift off the gunk without scrubbing. Price for the quantity isn't too bad either.
