  • The pinnacle of blending!
I've been hearing about Vitamix blenders for many years, but have sufficed with far cheaper options and kept having to replace them or repair/swap out parts for them. I finally had the chance to try out THE name in blenders, and I'm beyond impressed! This blender makes smoothies and frozen drinks that rival any made with food service equipment, and give the smoothest and most evenly blended drinks that I've ever had from home, even when I used large ice cubes instead of my nugget ice. This blender quickly and efficiently pulverizes even the thickest of frozen fruits and ice chunks to make creamy frozen drinks that stay homogenous and don't separate the icy layer from liquids as the drinks rest. The blender is very easy to clean with the self-cleaning function, something that I've never had on any of my blenders, including the OtherName blender that broke after several years of infrequent use and shortly after the warranty expired. The food processing attachment is also quite impressive! It slices veggies and grates cheeses more evenly and efficiently than my last food processors, and gives much more appetizing and consistent results. I like how the blender has programmable functions as well as operating by my manual input. I very rarely need to use the tamper, but it does come in handy of things in the blender get stuck to the sides. This blender and food processor system replaced a no-name blender, and a Bee and Dee food processor and hand mixer system powered by a stick blender. The latter was okay- but it's underpowered, the stick was finicky to operate, the food processor was not good at its job, the many many parts of the system took up so much space in my kitchen, and it was a hassle to assemble anytime I wanted to use it. This blender system takes up less space and is far more capable than the Bee and Dee, and the power of this blender is miles above any other blender that I've used. This blender system takes up less space than the two others that it's replacing, and it fits into my small storage availability well, and I strongly feel it is worth the space it takes up. The motor is loud, but any blender or food processor will be and this one doesn't have a disturbing screech or whine in the motor's rumble as my last two blenders did. I am very happy to replace my other blending and food processing systems with this Vitamix. It suits my needs much better, it's easier to assemble and operate, it takes up less space, and the power of this system is a force to be reckoned with! • Best of the Best for sure!!
i’ve never had a blender that can do this much...it's on another level. this thing replaces both our blender and food processor. i’ve made everything from creamy peanut butter to hot soup to dough, and it handles it all like it was built for a commercial kitchen. the blender power is insane... silky smoothies, fluffy hummus, smooth hot soups, like a vortex tornado in a jug. it even heats soup while blending—like actually steamy, ready-to-serve hot, not just lukewarm. peanut butter came out smoother than store bought. it did all that without breaking a sweat, no overheating... and that’s with just the base container. the food processor attachment is a beast too. it chopped veggies for a salad, sliced cheese and onions, and even handled dough prep with ease. the discs stack neatly in their own case which is great for keeping track of them in a cabinet. the way everything clicks into place and works off the same motor base is super smart and saves a lot of fuss in the kitchen. i like the smart features too... the blender knows which container you’ve got on and adjusts settings automatically so you don’t overdo it. the three blending programs make it easy—smoothie, hot soup, frozen dessert—and you can still go full manual with variable speeds if that’s your thing. the digital timer is a nice touch for recipes you want to be exact with. cleanup is no big deal either... just a few drops of dish soap and warm water, run the cleaning cycle, rinse it out. everything’s dishwasher safe too, but honestly the self-cleaning mode is good enough for most things unless you really gunk it up. it’s a big unit and has some weight to it... definitely not something i’d want to move in and out of a cabinet daily. i keep the blender on the counter and store the food processor setup in the pantry. it’s heavy, loud when running at high speed, and definitely pricey... but you’re getting serious performance. it’s made to last and backed by a 10-year warranty so you’re not buying cheap and replacing it in five years. overall, i’m impressed. it’s taken a lot of the guesswork and effort out of meal prep for me. yeah it’s expensive, but when something actually works this well and saves you time every day, it starts feeling worth it fast. this is the kind of tool you buy once and keep for life. i’m never going back to a basic blender again. ... show more

  • High quality kitchen tool-- follow care instructions!
I picked up this Vitamix Ascent and have used it nearly daily for two months. The price tag is steep but I believe if you are in the market for a quality kitchen tool for both efficiency and longevity, then you have arrived at the right product. Right out of the gate, I was able to eliminate some other kitchen items (blenders and food processors) and free up some much needed kitchen storage. The Vitamix has proved so valuable that it's earned a full time spot on the counter. I did follow the instructions carefully (no leaving water in the blender to soak and potentially rust the blades) and following the instructions on how to layer foods so that it blends properly. This seems like common sense but I found it worth noting-- you must follow the instructions! The Vitamix has had ZERO struggles with any amount or type of frozen foods I've thrown at it. The 48 oz blender is large enough to make a protein shake (with added veggies thrown in for nutrients) for my whole family without making a second batch. Now, one caveat --- this is loud. Not overly loud but it is noisy for the 45 seconds it is taking to blend up your concoction. This shouldn't shock anyone. Frozen fruits, ice, etc are going to be loud to blend but this thing is quite efficient so it's done in no time. I've used the settings and also just manually using the levels to blend things up. Both have worked well. The food processor attachment has been equally efficient at it's tasks. Overall, if you read the instructions and care for your Vitamix, I think it will prove to be a kitchen tool for the long haul (here's looking at you Kitchen Aid mixer going on two decades....). Pricey but worth every penny. ... show more
