    • PVC Arbor looks like wood but better!

I'm a wood person who wanted a wood arbor in my Florida Landscape. I twisted my knee and the pain made me consider an alternative. My injury help me `think outside the box' - to my `now' benefit! Yes you need to assemble it and there are a lot of pieces but... I'm 75, painful twisted knee and my arthritis is killing me but I was out there putting it together by myself on an old blanket. Ladies you can do this; but a 2nd pair of hand from any sex will help the assembly when you start putting the large sections together. It is clumsy about 8 feet high but not restrictive to handle. I live in Florida where termites eat wood, so you are always spraying for bugs. Rot is a problem because we not only have a lot of sun, we have a lot of rain. Rain & shade brings black mold and scrubbing a wood arbor with soap & water is not something I enjoy, I'm a power sprayer type person! This smooth PVC structure will be easily cleaned (no repainting). If this arbor is like my fake white wicker PVC chairs at the pool, it will look nice for a very long time. I have looked at a lot of pre-built options and I don't recommend metal. Looks too delicate, rust is a problem especially with salt air. I don't like the plastic-flimsy of a lot of things but this is well made PVC. This arbor as a solid feel and look. I recommend this company's product because of the quality and design. Good designed. For looks, it looks heavy and sturdy like wood. Makes a statement in the landscape! The top caps and ornamentation is excellent. Go to [...] and you will find gates, install option, more; but my favorite is a Solar Keystone (the decoration at the top/center of the arch) which replaces the keystone that comes with the arbor. This alternative keystone's top is the solar panel and the curve around the top section is a light. You can use just one on one side or two (one on each side arch). I think two may be overkill but maybe you want more light rather than accent lighting. As to the design of the arbor and fitting together, it was excellent. No sharp jagged ends, no sharp rough edges and a good thickness to the PVC. Everything fix well. If you want keystone mentioned above (in hind sight I do) but the arbor `snaps together'. Taking it apart to change the keystone may be difficult. (Don't know). Besides I was too excited about it and didn't want to wait for anymore pieces. Assembly is easy. No hammer, no saw, no nails and only about 16 screws to secure the top in the posts and the posts into wood &/or the PVC for cementing into the ground. Sound complicated? It is not. You arrange the pieces and then the final push, snaps and locks each piece into place. A nice interlocking design. My shipping box was damaged but one email and my replacements were immediately sent. The ad says "... no rotting, no staining, no cracking..." And it looks great. Shown it to a friend & neighbor. He had to walk up to it and feel. It was impressive. Not being one to accept a woman's work, he could only say "do you think you can get vines to stick to it... it is so smooth?" I laughed and said, "heck, just a bit of string and tie it to the slats, just like any wood arbor". I think this is something to consider. I have a wood pergola I built a couple of years ago. It needs paint again and that means up the ladder and drips on my cement below. They also have pergolas! Oh yes! I purchased it through my Amazon Prime. No shipping and got it in 2 to 3 days. This looked difficult but was easy. I'm a small woman but I did it alone, including leveling and installing it in-ground (Installed one side, screwed top to 2nd side, slid top into side 1, used a ladder to put in the last 4 screws between top and side 1). Also not real heavy. I am probably going to add some clear caulking to some of the seams because it feels like clicking together legos - together, but not hurricane strength if you will. I love it, would buy again. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Great quality material and easier directions than most. Design is somewhat idiot proof- left and right are the "same" - no putting it together backwards. ... show more

We used this for our daughter's park wedding. My husband assembled it by himself with relative ease and moved it with the help of another man to the park and back home after. They were unable to secure the stakes (ground too hard) but it was still sturdy enough to stand on its own for the ceremony with floral arrangements in the corners.     • Easy install and better quality then expected

Installed in less then 2 hours....with cementing the footers. Very easy to install with 2 people. Some tips for installation; I put it in place, marked where the holes will need to be. Dig the holes and fill with cement. This item includes 4 leg extensions that fit into the leg bottom. Screw them in place as deep as they will go into the bottom of the arbor with one screw each. Place the arbor into the holes with the leg extensions into the cement. If leveling/plumb is good...put the second screw to secure the extension to the leg. Or unscrew and make level and re-screw the extension back in. I also added 5 inch screws through the extension (side that will be in the cement) to anchor into the cement. The arbor is a bit top heavy so I would not recommend skipping the cement as the extensions in dirt doesn't seem substantial to hold it upright with any wind. Overall this is a great product for the money. Alot better then expected!!! ... show more

It was easy to assemble but not easy to install. At some point, I even regretted that I bought it. But as a result, I really like the look of this arch. I dug holes and filled them with fast concrete. Used 2x4 posts to make this structure stronger.

This review is long overdue. We built this about one week before Hurricane Ian. Simple to put together, we also went ahead and cemented it in the ground. We are located literally 8 miles from the eye of hurricane Ian, so you can imagine the winds with which we were dealt. This thing is all but indestructible. While the arbor did “twist “ per se, it’s not noticeable unless you really eye it. I’d say maybe 1.5-2 inches where the sides don’t appear aligned. Are we going to replace it? Absolutely not. This arbor is sturdy and beautiful and I’ll always have a reminder not noticeable to others of the horror we lived with Ian. We and our arbor are survivors! Buy this!! ... show more

Like everything about the arbor. Two sets of hands is helpful. Because the arbor is in an area on an incline it was decided to put the entire arbor together in our garage and carry it out to the location, because the 2 holes on the incline could not be certain as to depth until the arbor was put in the ground. And then it still had to be tweaked for leveling. It looks great! ... show more
