  • Wow, worth every penny!
Style: 49" 1440P 120hz 32:9 SUW49DA
This is a great monitor for the money! First off let me say this monitor came in a box that had a few dents in it which really concern me at first. After opening it and seeing that it was tightly packed in foam, there was no damage to the monitor whatsoever so kudos to Viotek for packaging this well. I've only had this hooked up for a few days and may update this review as time goes on but here it is..... PROS: The monitor comes very well packed for shipping w/ plenty of foam protection. The picture quality is absolutely stunning, whether your gaming, watching movies or videos, and for telecommuting. People have complained about blurry text but I don't see it. Also it is said the HDR is barely noticeable from SDR but I disagree. The fact that it supports Freesync 2 is a plus. Unfortunately, HDR cannot be run simultaneously with it enabled. However, I find the HDR makes BF4, GTA V, and The Division 2 run very smooth and more vibrant. But there is a caviat. (See CONS) The stand is very sleek, stylish,, and well made. The ability to connect 4 devices to accommodate 4 separate screens is a great option. CONS: The remote is very cheaply made and has to be pointed directly at the bottom center of the screen for it to work. The OSD is extremely basic and not very intuitive. The power on screen is so bright it's almost blinding. You will have to download a 3rd party wide-screen app to get some game to display correctly but not the monitor's fault. None of the cons are worth losing a star over. This is an amazing monitor and I strongly recommend it. ... show more

  • An absolute unit of a monitor
Style: 49" 1440P 120hz 32:9 SUW49DA
Edit (1.5 years later): This monitor is still going strong for me! I don't really have anything negative to say other than that if the monitor goes into sleep mode that sometimes only one half of the screen wakes up so you have to mess with the input settings to correct it. The other issue is that my PC will only apply blue light filter settings to one half of the monitor if you have 2 DP or HDMI cables hooked up to it (so not really a monitor problem, but it was alarming to me when I noticed it - it can be fixed in Windows). I've otherwise continued to really get a ton of value out of this monitor. I work from home full time and like to game when I'm not working. I was wielding dual monitors, but wanted to free up some real estate on my desk without losing the amount of screen I was working with. So, I decided to go big. And boy, is it BIG. I did a bit of research before settling on this particular brand/model, and all points lead to this one being the best bang for the buck. Set up was relatively easy. The packaging came with all the necessary hardware and screws whether you're using the included stand or intending to use a VESA mount. Installing the monitor just required inserting a few screws into the base, and the monitor slid easily into place. It's extremely easy to adjust height and angle as well. The screen itself is curved just enough to give a feel of immersion without it feeling like it's engulfing your head. For work I use a thin client, and that turned out to be a little bit more of a challenge to set this monitor up with just because the client is older. That said, the multi-window setting built into the monitor (navigating with the included remote) essentially "tricked" the thin client into thinking it had 2 monitors hooked into it instead of one. For gaming this thing is awesome. Upon hooking this up to my hobbyist PC I was initially a little disappointed in the colors being a bit washed out, however if you go to the Viotek website they do have custom ICC profiles that you can install based on whichever monitor model you have. This helped correct some of the color issues right away (however you can play around with the settings in the monitor itself to adjust to your personal preference). The performance you get heavily depends on what games you are playing. No Man's Sky with all settings on ultra played beautifully without any adjustments whatsoever, however Assassin's Creed: Origins had all sorts of issues with tearing and odd color issues that took quite a bit of tweaking to get right. However, I personally don't play the majority of my games on the ultra wide settings, so results may improve as I spend more time learning the ins and outs of what this monitor is capable of. Overall, if you want to go big without spending over 1k, this is a really solid choice for a monitor. I will likely update as time passes and I get to spend more time with this beaut. ... show more

  • Failed after 6 months: RMA is around 3 weeks from reporting an issue
Style: 49" 1080P 144hz 32:9 SUW49C
I was pleased with the quality of the monitor when I received it, and the design is good with just the right amount of curve to assist viewing but without causing distortion. All would have been well except that after 6 months of use I rebooted the connected workstation and the display turned to an extremely washed-out view. No amount of resetting, adjusting, or even connecting a different computer via a different type of connector made any difference. Using Viotek's online support page has yet to lead to a response from the company Update: 2019-09-24. Support finally got back to me with an RMA number. However, their RMA states that they will process the RMS within 6 days of receipt of the item back at their facility. This means around 3 weeks from my first reporting of a problem. Incredibly bad support and service so I wanted potential purchasers to realize they'll be stuck without a replacement for a considerable period of time. ... show more
