My daughter wanted to learn how to play violin and I wasn't sure where to start. Local instrument shops prices started at $1,500. I didn't want to spend so much, until I knew my daughter was committed. There are many that are in the $80 range, but the reviews were not good. I came across this one and thought we'd give it a try. I was worried that the quality would not hold up when presented to my daughter's violin teacher, because of the low price. However, the teacher said she was surprised with the good quality and that it was perfect for a beginner. I also took it to a local instrument shop, where they attached the bridge and tuned it for us. They also said that the quality was good, and they were surprised by this since it was bought online. So far, so good. If any issues come up, I'll come back to update.

The rosin doesn't work - or the bow, I can't tell. Broke a number of strings trying to tune it. They all kept popping out. When I finally did put all the strings in place (I had to change a number of them), I tightened the bow, used the rosin too, and it wouldn't play a single note or sound. Definitely disappointed.
