    • Beware: Quality Control May Be An Issue!
Seldomly do I write product reviews. Typically I'll only write them if the product is really good or really bad. I believe this is the first time I've written a review for something that doesn't fall in either of those categories. Let me start out by saying that the the Viltrox VL200T lighting kit has potential. The lights are thin, light, have power adapters (with a decent cord length), have a light but fairly sturdy light stand, remote control ( you have to buy 2 AAA's), and a nice cushy all-in-one carrying case. The lights have a decent output and the fact that they are bi-color and dimmable with an LCD screen on the back of each light makes them ideal for a light weight portable lighting setup/kit. With that said, I have two major issues. The first may not necessarily deal with viltrox; but my purchase was supposed to arrive on Satirday, June 13th and I did not actually receive the lights until Tuesday, June 16th; but USPS marked that it was received on the June 13th. The real issue is that only two of the three lights that I received works correctly. The third light has no working white leds. It will turn on, but will only reach 4400k (with yellow led only; no white led); after that the yellow LEDs will actually become dimmer until it reaches 5600k on the LCD screen; at which time it actually turns off and no LEDs bulbs are lit. I really wanted to like this kit; I've watched a lot of reviews before my purchase, and I had determined that for the price and what was being offered it was the perfect purchase. Like I said; I still think it has potential, but buyer beware; quality control may be an issue. For $218, I expect all parts to be in working order. ... show more

I bought a set of 3 lights. One light, its back display panel is dim. When first turn it on, the display panel is bright like other two, but within 5 seconds it becomes dim. ( see the photo, the middle light) I am still working and figuring out the remote control setting for the group light. As suggested on the guide, I should able to control the temperature and brightness of all 3 lights as a group, but no success. I can only increase or decrease the temperature and the brightness of an individual light on the remote control, but not as a group. I have re-read and tried for 5 times, with no success. I will try again at another time, and will update the status. Because of that two issues, I only give 3 stars for now. Will contact the seller to resolve these issues. One more thing: there are no batteries. It came with 3 AC adapter for 3 lights. ... show more

    • Bright and easy to use, they've been worth the money
Like so many people, I found myself suddenly working from home on camera many hours a day when the pandemic hit. I had a decent webcam, but not good lighting. Although webcams and videoconferencing software try to compensate, it's just hard to get enough light to get a decent picture, especially at night, and especially if you want to use a greenscreen. These lights pack a punch, and solved the problem handily. I only need two in my home office set-up, and I use the other in the living for casual zoom get-togethers. No more messing with lights, I can just hit the button and always have consistent light. The interface for switching the remote between group and individual controls is a bit clunky, but it gets the job done. ... show more

Essential for talent lighting (You will need a 4th one at least!) when I do my Green LED ring light Chromate screen Chromakeying to render the background out with Adobe After Effects on a W-10 machine for the best results in a 9.5' X 10.5' room. A 1 man operation to have a window on the world and never leave my studio. Remote control essential and then also plug them all into 1 power strip as they are all on still after you remote turn them off, then turn the power strip off! Same deal in the moring, turn the power strip on 1st all the lights will come on full blast, set them right with the remote, then hit the off button until you are ready to shoot. TADA / BINGO you are making movies or videos. ... show more

    • Great Starter light kit for Photography and Video
This set is truly great. Much brighter than my current set of Newer 176s. With the remote, it make it a much better starter set. This set comes with everything you need, ready to use out of the box. If you need to use battery power you will have to purchase batteries. I would go with NP-F750 and up because it takes two batteries. CRI95 the newer 176 led lights are not CRI rated. Stands are pretty sturdy as well and extend just over 6ft. I will be using these lights with my Newers but if you have a choice get these first. ... show more

I did a lot of research on finding the right lights, and I certainly have no regrets in buying these. The beauty of these lights is the remote control - It gives you full freedom to change the brightness and color temperature, either independently, or as a group. I also appreciate the size of the panels, and that they are both bright, and compact, which was key to my set up. The only addition I made to these lights was adding a bit more diffusion. Although the lights are partially diffused, for my use, I required a bit more. The diffusion level they come with is probably good for most applications. Recommended! ... show more

I like the case this product came it. The lights are a good slim profile. The remote control works very well. The connector of the lights to the tripod is plastic and not engineered well to hold the light when using batteries for power. Each light takes two batteries. This puts a significant amount of weight on a connection that does not look like it was designed to carry the extra weight. This is not an issue if using the power cords, however, being able to remotely control and move the lights untethered is important to me. Overall this is a good value for the money.
