I'm not sure why some folks are saying these lights are not bright. I purchased these to try to match some Christmas wreaths that I own that are pre-lit. I was having a hard time finding a good price. This price was fantastic. My wreaths are 24 inches and these were the perfect length. I agree that the directions are a little strange. But I just looked at what others have posted and figured it out pretty easily. I did put plastic sandwich bags around the battery pack because my wreaths are outdoors and get rained on. I've had them up for two weeks now set on the timer and they are working great. They also look really nice with what I already have and the lights are bright. They are in my upstairs window and are just as bright as my pre-lit wreaths. They are easily seen from the street. I think this is a good deal. ... show more

I like these lights. I have them on a fake ficus tree in my entry. They create a nice atmosphere. I wish there were a few more lights on the string (maybe 3-5 more would give me better coverage). Over all I'm happy with my purchase. Would nice on a wreath!

I needed some Christmas lights that would work well for a wreath I hang in my vaulted ceiling great room high up on the wall. I did not want an extension cord running down the wall so I had to have battery operated. Also, since it is so high up, I didn't need something that I would have to turn on and off so this string of lights worked well since it came with a timer. The lights have varying settings so if you prefer they flash fast, slow or not at all, you can set it that way. I prefer the latter of the 3 settings. The timer is very easy to set as long as you do the math correctly :o) setting1: is 4 hrs on/20 hrs off setting 2: is 6 hrs on/18 hrs off and setting 3: is 8 hrs on/16hrs off. They require 2 C batteries. The LED lights are nice and bright but don't have that piercing LED look like I have seen with other strings of lights. I bought 2 sets of 35 because it is about a 42" wreath in diameter. I am very pleased especially for the cost. Thanks Amazon. ... show more

I ordered two of these to go on front door Christmas swags. Two arrived in undamaged box. Looked fine. One wouldn't light at all--tried numerous brand new C batteries. It was totally flawed. So I sent it back. The other one would light after I fiddled with it for about an hour. As it turns out, it only stayed lit about two hours and it would never light properly again. Would light for a second and go off. Even though no instructions at all come with the item, I am certain I had them set correctly. My husband and I use tons of lights for various holiday displayes and other battery-operated items and are very well versed in these things. My husband would have even tried to repair it by working on internal wiring, but the only way to get to the internal wiring was to break apart the plastic box that holds the batteries (no screw-open top or anything), so it was no use. We are returning the second one too. The chance of getting two non-working light strings are very unlikely unless the product is just cheap and totally unreliable. Highly recommned you NOT bother with this product. Very sad, because these are hard to come by. A total waste of my time and effort, and now I have one more ordered which undoubtedly will have to be returned as well. What a hassle! ... show more

I placed these in my gas fireplace (gas was not turned on) to decorate for Christmas. I really enjoyed the look and the ease of not having to open the fireplace door to turn them on. I needed a LED light set to replace a bad set on an 8 ft garland and this set fit the ticket perfectly. The LED lamps are exceptionally bright with two C batteries instead of two D's on the set I replaced. The controller works well as does the timer. It has a limited number of light patterns which are sufficient for my needs, and the set is fairly rugged. The bulbs are permanent so cannot be replaced. The battery case is very cheap - the lid keeps falling off and the lower battery contact plate fell out but once the batteries are in and as long as it is not moved, it holds together and works OK. At the price of the set, however, these issues are not a big deal. ... show more
