It's powerful and the suction doesn't hurt like some other toys. It's quiet but not whisper quiet which is normal for a motor operated toy like this to make some noise. The suction works but vibrations are weak. The tongue doesn't quite reach unless using the suction to pull parts closer to the tongue, but when that happens the tongue stops rotating. Fluids will get sucked up into the air hole and that makes me concerned about the toy harboring bacteria or mold since the hole is very small and can't easily be cleaned/water won't evaporate.
