    • Does NOT fit older 400P/40043 compressors!
The part itself was fine. BUT, if your ViaAir 400p (part # 40043) compressor is more than 10 years old this part will NOT fit!! The 3/8"/part # 92627 is TOO BIG for an older 400P. You will need Part # 92630/1/4" as a direct replacement. YES, I DID measure the opening but unfortunately my original plastic part was destroyed and the difference between 3/8" and 1/4" is minuscule. Both Amazon and the ViaAir said the direct replacement was this part but upon receiving it the 92627 filter was too large for my 12 year old 400P/40043. Turns out, the part number for the air compressor hasn't changed but they changed the size of the filter opening from 1/4" to 3/8" so if your 400P is older check with Via Air and/or measure carefully. Upon calling them I was told the correct part for the OLDER 400P is 92630. Nowhere is this indicated on any website. I had to call Via Air and talk to their tech dept.     • A great all metal filter assembly
This all metal Viair intake filter assembly fit perfectly on my Viar compressor replacing the plastic one that was the original filter assembly. If you order this be sure that you measure the threaded inlet as there are several different sizes. I would buy this again.

    • Works as expected, problem is the design
The filter fits correctly and is OEM for the compressor, the problem is the design, this filter sits in the front of the unit and is exposed, making it susceptible to damage.
