I picked this up for an abandoned Hover-1 Alpha 1.0 scooter I found. (For peace of mind, I even contacted Hover-1 with the serial number so they could reach the original owner, but they wouldn’t get involved.) In the meantime, I needed to see if the scooter could be revived, and this charger did the job. The VHBW unit works exactly as described. It locked right into the charging port, and I was able to start charging immediately. Build quality feels solid, and the 10-foot cord length is much more convenient than some of the short OEM chargers I’ve dealt with before. It does get a little warm during use, but that’s typical for this type of adapter and hasn’t been a problem. Pros: Works with multiple Hover-1 models (confirmed with Alpha 1.0) Long cord makes charging easier in tight spaces Safety protections built in, with stable 42V / 2A output Affordable replacement compared to OEM charger Cons: Charger does warm up while in use (common but worth noting) ... show more

Was hesitant but it fully charged my kids electric scooter. This is a good value so far. Hopefully it will function consistently and correctly until my kids grow out of their electric scooter. It does get pretty warm when charging but that could have been the extension cord it was plugged into.
