A gift for my husband who is new to blacksmithing. There are things that have to be done to this type of forge to prepare it for use that do take time. Once that prep-work was finished he could fire it up and is quite happy with the forge. If you are a beginner, please talk to other blacksmiths before taking the plunge. It is a very nice forge!

So very much a beginner to knife making but this thing works like a charm, it take about 10min to get cold metal to forging temps and it hold temps very well, I would recommend putting the fire stone over one of the two openings to help keep heat and that’s what I did and it works like a dream

So far works as expected. Did a test firing and it heated up nicely and evenly after some adjustment on the air baffles. Didn’t get up to welding temps but might if I had extra fire bricks to block off one end. Again not bad at all for the price

Impressive build for price point. I'm a bit disenchanted by there being no instruction regarding treating the insulation to prevent friable ceramic fibers though (one partial sentence on listing image mentions rigidizer and refractory cement but no instruction and none included) Hint: BUY IT - USE IT - YOU ONLY HAVE TWO LINGS! Haven't fired this forge to evaluate heating other than at low flame for a couple minutes to set the rigidizer but the burners react very well. I expect a good service life from this one.

Very good forge came with everything that was listed. The only problem is the back burner is funky, it lights up but it's burning the paint off of it. I just stick to the front one.
