    • A Must have with a Glowforge Aura
This works great with my Glowforge Aura, easy to set up and got right to playing with my Aura in minutes after set up.

    • FILTER CARTRIDGE FAILED IN LESS THAN 30 HOURS OF USE
I had high hopes for this product but was severely disappointed in the performance of this filter unit and the problems it caused with the Glowforge overheating! When I first started using the filter it worked great. Over the next ~20 hours I started noticing that the smoke generated by the laser was not being evacuated from the Glowforge and was seeping out into my house. This continued to get worse and worse over the next few hours of use. The blower motor in the filter unit began to randomly shut down during the cutting process for anywhere from 10 to 45 seconds and would then start back up on its own. This made the issue of the smoke coming out of the Glowforge into my house even worse. I started having issues with prints failing due to a recurring error. I called Glowforge support about the errors and was told that the logs showed the print head was overheating, which they determined was due to an excessive amount of debris being sucked into the print head. This was degrading the heat dissipation of the air-cooling system built into the print head. The print head would overheat about every hour of printing when using this filter. The support tech said the only solution was to frequently clean the print head cooling fan and everything I could reach on the inside of the print head with Q-Tips and Isopropyl alcohol. I was having to conduct this cleaning over, and over, and over... I stopped having prints fail due to the laser overheating after discontinuing the use of this filter and venting the Glowforge out the window. I have been able to print multiple hours, with the same material as before, and have not had a single instance of the print head overheating after discontinuing the use of this filter. These issues are completely unacceptable for a product that cost nearly $400, and one that the proprietary replacement filter cartridge cost $129 each. There is an obvious design flaw in the fact that there is not an independent particulate filter in line before the primary filter cartridge, and that the filter unit does not have a more powerful fan to provide a higher air flow. I would NOT recommend that you purchase this product until some much-needed modifications are made by Glowforge. As for me, I will be returning this filtration unit. ... show more

    • Good Filter
Tried the glowforge aura without a filter and was a huge mistake, but this filter does a decent job filtering out smells. It does have a tiny amount that you can smell after finishing a cut but overall does a decent job at filtering the smells in even a tiny space.

    • It’s not very effective
The filter was loud, it wasn’t very effective. I have a two story house and the aura was placed in the downstairs den. When I used the glow forge aura, it took 5+ hours to cut leather, the whole of down stairs stunk and the smell leaked to the upstairs, smell lingered for for hours. I returned the filter and placed the aura in the garage, where it has better air circulation with the garage doors open ... show more

    • Does not effectively prevent smell
It might be ok if you have no access to a window but a window dryer vent insert is much more effective. Too expensive to keep as a backup only.

    • Doesn’t stay on
I feel like they should add more to their instructions and set up for the filter because this thing only kicks on once doesn’t do a good job my room is still Smokey and when it kicks on the one time it doesn’t even help in anyway I feel like it just makes sound and actually doesn’t do anything so now I have to figure out something else because even with windows fans and other ventilation I’m still setting off the smoke alarms but I’ve tried getting in contact with support and I get the whole run around for 400 dollars this thing could do way better ... show more

    • Waste of money
They tell you to buy it, it doesn’t work and if you have issues with your Glowforge their customer support tells you to remove it and vent directly out a window.
