Five-gallon buckets are used for thousands of products but their price is outrageous when we want to buy one. A nice thing about Typical five-gallon buckets is that they're all the same AND we can buy lids that fit them all. THIS Bucket isn't standard, although it fits the expectations of a good old-fashioned pail. It has a smaller diameter at the bottom than the top. Great. Nothing wrong with that. BUT I personally wish the designers had thought of making the top a bit smaller so common lids would fit it. -- THIS bucket has such a great price that I was suspicious it would be poorly made. So I first ordered only one to check its quality. IT'S BETTER THAN I'D HOPED FOR as far as durability. So minutes after getting my first one, I ordered more. -- The Galvanized (zinc) coating: I use one of them for mixing my "recipe" for watering seedling trees... here in the Sonoran Desert... where the soil is as alkaline as Baking Soda! For most trees to live here we have to add a bit of vinegar to the water. Having a slightly acidic liquid in a metal bucket will eventually corrode it. I was surprised how quickly it started rusting--especially the bottom. It seems they used a different sheetmetal source for the bottom. YES my use for the bucket is weird and most people won't need to be concerned, AND I know how to modify the metal to stop the rusting. -- All considered, it's a great bucket. I ALMOST NEVER GIVE FIVE STARS. For me, Average and typical gets three stars I don't give a Five unless it's something I brag about. I do a lot of gardening and use buckets frequently for watering and hauling debris. Plastic buckets simply don't last. These galvanized pails may cost more but I expect they will last a whole lot longer.

This 5 gallon stainless steel bucket is very big. Definitely sturdy and strong. I bought it for my dog so he can drink water, and give him his old one so he can put his paws in it .. so he can cool off.

Great pail but not as pictured. Shiny, not dull or shaded as picture shows. But that’s ok age will do the job. This is really a very utilitarian item so if you are looking for something decorative this is not it

I would recommend better packaging. Mine has damage but I am keeping since it is being used outside. The bend at the top doesn't effect what I am using for. Nice looking bucket.
