  • If you ride a Japanese bike, GET ONE
Style: +2 x 150
Did you know that most of the Philips screws on Japanese bikes are not Philips at all? Nope, they're a very similar style known as JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard). You can technically use a Philips screwdriver on these, but they're much more likely to slip out and destroy they head of the screw. If you're worked on Japanese stuff before (especially old carburetors), you know what I'm talking about. My old Japanese bike has some screws that haven't been touched for 20+ years. They won't come out without a fight. This screwdriver is perfect for those situations because it fits the JIS heads much more tightly than a typical Philips screwdriver, reducing the chances of stripping the screw head. It can also be used as an impact driver. Put the driver's tip into a screw, hit the butt with a hammer and the shank will rotate slightly counterclockwise. This is effective for really difficult screws, though you have to be careful that your hammering doesn't do more damage. For anything using JIS screws, there is a night and day difference between using this screwdriver and a typical Philips. The quality is excellent and the price is very reasonable. It's earned a permanent spot in my tool cart for these reasons. ... show more

  • It works well without having to break a bank
Style: +2x100
It looks very nicely built and used one of those before. It does wonders. Only gripe is I got the wrong size. Needed P3 size. But that's MY fault. Since it's a nice screwdriver, I'll just add it to my toolbox.

  • By the way JIS stands for Japanese Industrial Standard but better known as Japanese Phillips
Style: +2x100
I never knew these JIS drivers existed until I saw a bike mechanic refer to these in a Youtube video. By the way JIS stands for Japanese Industrial Standard but better known as Japanese Phillips. JIS-spec cross-head screws are generally marked with a single raised dot or an "X". JIS always fit Phillip fasteners, but because of slight design differences, Phillips drivers may not fit JIS fasteners. (unless the tip is ground down a bit). JIS B 1012:1985 screw standard is throughout the Asia market and Japanese imports. The driver has a 57 degree point with a flat tip, parallel wings. As you can see by the photos the difference of the regular Phillips fastener and the JIS is very slight. These work very well with regular Phillips and I tend to go to these when fastening or loosening a Phillips fastener. As you can see by the photos, it makes sense when using a regular Phillips driver on a Phillips fastener as to why it's so easy to cam out, or in other words slip off the head of the fastener. This can be very frustrating. Try using a JIS on a regular Phillips fastener and you'll be surprised how much of a torque you can create before you start to cam out. I wish I had known about these sooner! What I like about this particular JIS driver is it is a driver and impact driver all in one. If you have a super tight fastener you might get lucky using this and a hammer. What happens when you hit the top of this driver with a hammer s it turns the driver 12 degrees to the left. It's very important that when you hit the top of this driver you are holding it very tight. Some people might say you only use this particular driver for removing tight fasteners but I use this for both, why not. I liked this #2 JIS Impacta driver so much I bought the #1 JIS screwdriver. I now plan on getting all the JIS screwdrivers so I can be prepared for any size fastener. I hope this review helped, if it did please give me a helpful vote. Thanks. ... show more

  • Every garage needs 3 of these
Style: +2x100
I've been using this model screwdriver for as long as i can remember, but when my trusty companion disappeared (kidnapped more than likely), i didn't hesitate to buy another one. if you work on anything out of japan (motorcycles, harley carbuerators, etc) this is a must. JIS may look like Phillips, but it's not. That being said, JIS works perfectly in a phillips screw. I use mine for literally everything. The impact feature is also very handy. it has saved me with even the most stubborn case screws. EVERY shop needs at least one, but your better off with 2 or three. Thank me later ... show more

  • Vessel quality
Style: +2x100
These screwdrivers are made in Japan and the Impacta line works like a normal screwdriver and it's a impact screwdriver so by hitting the top will turning will break the fasteners loose.. Excellent quality. Grips are rubber and plastic but feel good and grip good. I have small hands and they fit nice in my hand. I would recommend.. ... show more

  • Good screwdriver, but no impact action.
Style: +2x100
This is a quality screwdriver from Vessel, made in Japan. Is it supposed to act like an impact driver when struck with a hammer? I thought so, but in testing it I found no impact action, no torque applied to the shank of the tool. It does have a metal strike cap on the handle.

  • Remove Odyssey rotor mounting screw
Style: +2x100
Great, sturdy screwdriver. Works for Phillips head screws. But, best “value” of it is that it removed a rusted-on, stripped-headed, rotor mounting screw in an Odyssey. (I didn’t know what JIS was and that this screw was JIS not Phillips until I stripped head trying to remove with impact drill.) Took a few solid whacks with a mallet (also aided by Blaster penetrant), but got it out in the end. I like this screwdriver and is gonna now be my main Phillips driver! ... show more

  • We've bought three so far
Style: +2x100
This screwdriver made me stop hating Philips head screws. Well, okay, hating them *as much.* Yes, I know it's theoretically for JIS screws, and for those it's undeniably better than a Phillips (which is literally the wrong tool), but if I need to remove a Phillips screw, I still reach for this. We've now got them in three separate places in our house, with one of them being the junk drawer in the kitchen--it's the all-purpose scrwdriver there now. Weirdly, I've only used the actual impaxt feature once. It was useful then. But usually it's just the shape of the head itself that's the miraculous thing about this screwdriver. I've bought some more (smaller) Megadora screwdrivers too, and they're nice as well, but it's this one that seems just leaps and bounds better than other screwdrivers. ... show more
