Description

Versace is launching a new fragrance for men – Eros inspired by and deeply connected with Greek mythology. The aim of this edition is to reveal and release unrestrained passion and to accentuate desire. The fragrance was named after Greek god of love and son of goddess Aphrodite – Eros. Inspiration by ancient Greece has lasted since the time when Gianni Versace raised his fashion empire and took goddess Medusa as symbol of the brand to adorn numerous products of the house, among them also the new flacon of men's fragrance Eros. The new perfume Eros is the first in the past five years to be launched and aimed at men. Donatella Versace's desire was to fit the fragrance into the concept of the Versace brand and to depict style and significance of long-lasting design, quality and popularity. "Eros is truly the DNA of the house of Versace" - explains Donatella. "We have a Greek motive making us think about ancient Greece, antiquities and mythology, while turquoise color represents the Mediterranean. That is Versace!" Eros was created by Aurelien Guichard of Givaudan and it was announced as fresh, woody and slightly oriental. The fragrance includes mint oil combined with green apple and Italian lemon. Warmth is provided by tonka mixed with Venezuelan ambroxan and geranium flowers giving a fougere twist to the fragrance this way.

Smells great, came full (no half empty nonsense), and the bottle and packaging is adorable. Great value for the money! Be aware though, it’s not a spray bottle! You dab the perfume onto yourself but it won’t spill out- it gives little drops at a time. I honestly prefer it over a spray top.

I've read some old reviews saying they might have gotten a fake version. I can say (although from my own first time experience with this brand) that I believe this is the real deal. One spray on my wrist has lasted 12 hours so far and it's still going strong. As for the fragrance itself, I imagine it'll take some getting used to. Versace might be a bit too ritzy for a Montana man such as myself but this definitely fits in with a button down long sleeves collared shirt and other formal wear on a date, at a party, or in a college setting (all of which I frequent). I had to make sure it said "MEN" on the bottle because yes it is potent. I was hoping for something more "woodsy and citrus-y" like the label suggested but overall, a decent aroma. As an Armani type of guy I can say that I don't really think this cologne is bad. It comes off strong but then has a great after smell. I'm more in to softer smells that smell better than thing manly strong cologne. It definitely last long i sprayed once and i never stopped smelling it after hours and got some compliments. This is the smell that you smell after walking out of a barbershop. Its good and the smell get better more and more but if you're like me then go for a nice scent like Armani Acqua or another woodsy scent you had in mind.
