I’m posting this review to share an issue I ran into with Verizon activation. I bought two Moto G phones from Amazon for my homeschooling kids. I’m a single mom & can’t really afford a monthly wireless plan. I only needed the phone to be able to connect to Wi‑Fi. I’m not trying to unlock the phones or use a different carrier. The minute I took the phones out of the box & turned them on, I was brought to the Verizon activation page. I couldn't move past this activation. I had to open a Verizon account & had to add a monthly $60 service plan. That was the only plan they were offering because I had bought the prepaid cell phone thinking I could use it on WiFi only. I tried to bypass the activation screen with no luck. I found a few different tricks that people said would work but didn't. So I boxed them both back up & I am sending them back to Amazon. Now I have to wait for Amazon to receive them before I get my money back & I'm sure my money will be added to my Amazon account & so now I have to try & find something else. This is the second order with Amazon since Christmas. My first order was 2 tablets for both kids but those broke & I had to send those back & then wait & wait & wait for my refund & now I get to wait some more. Talk about frustrating. ... show more

For the price and how often I break phones it's a winner. I get multi day battery life if it's mostly running off wifi, 5g eats it alive. It's locked to active service which is annoying. If it is turned on and loses service it will work just like you'd expect. But if you lose service and happen to restart it, it won't complete the boot until you get service back ... show more

The biggest pain in the butt to connect. Not worth it. SIM card did not work. Apparently there's something wrong with it. I've spent days trying to get this thing connected. Finally got it connected and still not able to make or receive phone calls. Run away!

I normally only leave reviews when I have something positive to say, but it should be known that this phone will not operate in any way unless you activate it. I bought the phone with the intention to use Google Play Apps/wifi but was denied access to using the phone in any way and was immediately prompted to activate a plan with no way of bypassing it. If you intend to use this phone regularly. Calls/text etc. it should be a good buy as I eventually bought this phone unlocked and it is a nice quality high speed phone. But if you intend to use the phone for Apps, Games, Children, Wifi, etc this is not the buy to make and it would be wiser to buy this phone unlocked or from a carrier that won't block you from using it without activation. ... show more
