When remodeling our master bathroom we were originally looking at Robern (another brand) recessed medicine cabinets. They were SO expensive. My designer had never used the Kohler recessed cabinets but we decided to go for it because they were so much more reasonably priced and were aesthetically pleasing. (NOTE: Still expensive, but not crazy). They were a little tricky to install (according to my contractor). However, they look great, provide tons of room, very functional. Would definitely buy again. Highly recommend. Attached are photos with doors open and doors closed (note that we had our cabinet contractor add a thin wood frame around the mirrors to match the cabinets). ... show more

This Kohler lighted medicine chest replaces the standard mirror + vanity light + medicine chest set. It is really convenient to see my lotions, serums and other products at eye level instead of tucked into low cabinets. The shelves are deep enough for medium sized jars but not so deep that things get lost and buried behind each other. The wall is weight-bearing so I mounted it on the surface. The mirror kit for the sides works well. The lights are on a dimmer switch. Along with a couple of recessed canned lights nearby, there is a good level of lighting for application of make-up. I used a 40" wide Verdera on the wider "her" side vanity and the 32" version for the shorter "his" side. I like that it's different than the traditional boring mirror and vanity light set-up I've seen all of my life. ... show more

    • One of the only 30" tall options good for 36" high countertops. Fits in a standard 16" oc stud bay.

Quality construction. One of the only decent 30" tall options; provides more space than most (Other 30" tall mirrors hide a very short cabinet) but still fits above a 36" countertop plus backsplash. Mirrored on the back of the mirror door and on the back of the cabinet. As others have noted, does not come with the side panel mirrors required for external installation. Comes with three glass shelves. Installed in-wall; fits easily inside a 16" oc stud bay, but the surround is only 15" wide, so that you can't have any slop *at all* in cutting out the drywall without exposing a gap on one side or the other. Mirror door has 3 axis adjustments which help if your studs aren't quite plumb. Note that neither of our two units came with the swing-out makeup mirror which is shown in the various pictures on-line and also shown in the installation instructions. The provided screws are soft and strip easily, the hex head works better than a phillips driver. ... show more

Mirrored doors should NOT need to be taken off in order to install shelves. This is silly! Additionally, as much as this lovely cabinet costs, the doors should stay where you want them when you want to view the back of your head/hair. Aside from those issues, the size is great and it appears sturdy. The cabinet definitely holds a lot of supplies, but I really wonder about the need for mirrored surfaces inside as well. That also seems silly. Would be so much easier to surface mount if the inside wasn't mirrored, because you will cover up the insides anyway. The soft-close, self closing doors are a nice touch. I like it more than I thought I would. But still think its silly to have to take the doors off to install shelves. What about cleaning? ... show more

Had it installed into the wall in a small bathroom and it has expanded our storage area for all those bottles and jars and doodads two young ladies with long hair can use. So I am happy because it has cleared off the counter and allowed it to be a presentable guest bathroom again. They love the mirrors too. By moving them they can see front and side and even back quite well. The magnifier mirror is a hit and the ability to move hinges and have doors open either way and the ability to move shelves any way is perfect.     • I really loved this mirror, until it started rusting along the bottom....

Within a year of installing this mirror, the bottom edges of the front reflective surface has started to rust, which has only gotten worse with time and now extends into the interior mirror areas. I spoke with Kohler customer service rep, who said that it was from using glass cleaner on it, which is what my housekeeper uses, and I would think most anyone uses to clean mirrors. She told me I was only supposed to be using a special cleaner than Kohler sells, and that they won't warranty the mirror if any other cleaning product is used. This was the most expensive mirror I considered when shopping, and thinking that the Kohler brand meant that it was a quality product. The reality is that this is not a quality product, nor will Kohler stand behind it in any way whatsoever. The solution they offered was replace the affected doors, at a cost of almost a brand new mirror. I've lived with it for now, only because replacing it means reworking a wall of porcelain tile at a cost of several thousand dollars. This is extremely disappointing and I could not recommend this mirror or any Kohler product based on my experience. If someone from Kohler would care to contact me I'd love to hear your justification for your product failing in such a way, and your lack of response to the issue. ... show more

    • Loses connection with the internet and the APP

Mirror looks amazing. The light is nice and bright. Speakers are loud enough to play your favorite music However, if you are like me and are buying this product because you want a connection to Alexa and be able to play your favorite music then I’m here to tell you that at least once a week my mirror loses internet connection and somehow disconnects from Alexa and the Kohler APP. So, if it does go back on line, it will tell you that you need to open the APP and start the set up again. Other then that issue, the mirror is amazing. ... show more
