This Kohler mirror was definitely ahead of its time when it came out in 2019. It is very well made, plenty bright and the Alexa integration was nice. It is definitely for a mid size bathroom. The size was too large for a small or half bathroom and too small for a large master bathroom. Looks best when installed above a single sink. It’s definitely expensive but the build quality is up there. A surplus for sure if you decide to go this way.     • Wow Factor With Some Misses

Wow. This is gorgeous and looks like what every smart home in the future will have. I had to get some friends (one is a contractor) to help hang this for me. It is quite heavy. It comes with the needed mounting hardware and secures rather simply and sturdily once you hook it on the top. The Alexa set up was a pain, but my son was able to link it after several attempts. If you get stuck, Kohler customer service is awesome. Kohler stands behind its products and this comes with a one-year limited warranty. The lighting is my favorite feature. I need perfect lighting to do makeup and it’s fantastic how you can change how bright or dim you want this to go – from natural daylight to evening lighting. I love the motion-sensor night light, but I wish it would go off after 20-30 seconds. I haven’t looked to see if I can adjust this, but this mirror is pretty customizable to your needs. I haven’t installed the dimmer switch yet, and I’m not sure if I need my bathroom like my dining room, but it’s a nice feature if you want to take a relaxing bath without having to light a bunch of candles. The buttons underneath the bottom remind me of my PC monitor. I can’t tell which one does what and they aren’t really buttons but are some sleek version of a touch sensor or I don’t know what, but this will take some time to get used to. It would have been nice to have some plugs for a blow dryer or flat iron, but this model doesn’t come with those. The side mirrors can be moved in and out to give the feel of a stage makeup mirror, but you can’t see the back of your head. Inside the cabinet is a ton of room for every morning ritual product you can think of and the shelves can be adjusted to fit even your tallest canister of hair spray. There is also lighting inside the cabinet and a built-in magnifying mirror. I thought it would feel weird talking to your mirror, but it’s just like talking to Alexa or Echo or Siri. I can get the weather forecast, stock futures, traffic, and ask Alexa to play my warrior playlist when I am facing a grueling commute. At night I can have tranquil music to take the day off. To sum it up, this is an amazing mirror, but my house isn’t cool enough for it yet. This mirror is for someone like myself that was already using an Echo Dot connected to a speaker in their bathroom. I had to buy an adapter to add more power plugs just to connect all my electronic equipment. The Kohler Verdera solves this issue with beauty and style. By getting the speaker off the counter, I have also created some extra counter space. Also, the packaging was great. They had the mirror protected by foam at the top and bottom and there is tape over the mirror to help make sure you there aren't any issues. Personally, I don't mess with electrical, so I had to hire someone to connect it. The mirror itself is beautifully designed with the adjustable slats that give you more options that a typical mirror and the different lightning options can let you decide the brightness. When combined with Alexa, you have music, the News Brief, weather, shopping list features, etc. Wonderful addition to the modern home! Update: I meant to update this after using it awhile, so I am back since we just did a bathroom overhaul and set it up again. The Kohler Connect app requires you to hit a button on the back of the mirror for setup. My hands are a bit too large, so I had my girlfriend hold it down until it went into setup mode. I did have to connect the WiFi to it a couple times for the app to let me go to the next step. It goes slow, so I had to be patient. Once I had it setup, I linked it to Alexa. Then connected it to Veranda Skill which lets you sign up in the Alexa app. Yes, it is a 3 pronged approach. Alexa is not full featured. It says Apple Music isn’t supported. I can play music from Amazon and Pandora by voice, though. The other features I mentioned above work fine. The speakers don’t sound great, but work fine for my bathroom. The main reason I am updating is because I forgot to mention the Bluetooth feature. This is nice and I use it everyday for listening to podcasts via Bluetooth from my phone. ... show more

    • Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall...

Eh, it's just an overprice mirror with bells and whistles. I like the speaker option okay. The best part to me is the built-in lights and the movable side panels. I also like the night light feature. The controls at the bottom should have better placement though. It took a while to get used to them without bending down and looking at them. Like all smart devices, do your homework and set it up correctly. You can't hang it on the wall and just start talking to it. It requires proper set up and programming. This was a lot more complicated than I thought. First off, I needed $225 and an electrician to install this. Then I had all sorts of problems getting it connected and working. I contacted Kohler Konnect Tech support four times. The last time they spent nearly 2 hours with me and were on the verge of sending me a new mirror when it abruptly started working. He wouldn't send a tech out to help me because there wasn't a trained Kohler tech within a 100 mile radius. It is now working and I am still trying to figure out all of the bells and whistles. It plays music nicely. It tells the weather and can answer questions. We use its timer for our kids brushing their teeth. The night light never shuts off so I am concerned about that burning out. The side panels fold in although they seem a little flimsy. The lights are not quite as bright as I would prefer. Overall this is a good product but I was just expecting more. ... show more
