Mirror looks amazing. The light is nice and bright. Speakers are loud enough to play your favorite music However, if you are like me and are buying this product because you want a connection to Alexa and be able to play your favorite music then I’m here to tell you that at least once a week my mirror loses internet connection and somehow disconnects from Alexa and the Kohler APP. So, if it does go back on line, it will tell you that you need to open the APP and start the set up again. Other then that issue, the mirror is amazing.

I purchased this item in January 2020 getting all the necessary components/fixtures together we needed as we were remodeling our master bathroom and finding subcontractors is very difficult in our area. There's a very long waiting list sometimes two years. We wanted to have everything paid for thus the reason I bought fixtures ahead of time. The item sat in the original box past the return date of March 7th, 2020. When it was installed months later in the summer of 2020 we discovered the light on the left side of the mirror when looking/facing the mirror does not illuminate or work. It is either burnt out or otherwise. I cannot return the item and I have a mirror that only partially illuminates. I do not know if it can be repaired or the entire mirror has to be replaced? A waste of money...over $400 for what I paid for it. Now I am faced with contacting Kohler to see if anything can be done. Buyer Beware!

This is a phenomenal bit of kit. Very "Jetsons" I didn't fit it the way they told me to! It comes with a small plate you mount to the wall, then you place the screws to mount the mirror outside of the edges of the holder, and hung the mirror on that. After trying to align it (I am a 'weekend warrior' - I am fairly good at most DIY things, but I am no professional) several times, I gave up! I removed the components (power supplies) from the small plate (where they were screwed on) and used sticky foam to mount them behind the mirror. Carefully realigned the cables and tried again to hang it. And this time it worked perfectly! Once in place, you can set it up. The Alexa is a standard third party Alexa (so she won't do 'drop-ins' amongst a few other things. Still fully usable with home automation and music). The speakers, given that the are mounted behind a mirror stuck to a wall sound outstanding! Very nice and clear bass. Distortion-free treble and a lovely clear Mid-range. As well as music and reminders, there are also lights. It annoyed me at first that these are not Alexa controlled. However, there is a touch bar on the lower edge of the mirror that you can lightly move your finger over to brighten and dim. For volume, there is another touch control pr you can use the Alexa volume controls. The LED lights behind the glass ave very good. Not that cold White LED light but a warm light. much nicer for looking at and seeing your self reflected in. The only bad thing about this is the p[rice (at the time of review) which at almost $1,100 seems excessive. Especially as there is another Alexa-in-a-mirror for just $200. I appreciate that the brand "Kohler" is pure quality but the price seems excessive. For this price, I would expect to see a cool screen behind the mirror showing me video. Given the price, and that it needs 110 going into it, I think that Kholer has limited their sales with this, but if the ticket price doesn't scare you, it is a wonderful mirror!

Arrived broken after a longer than normal amazon delivery window (10 days) 😭. Had to return and get a different mirror because couldn't risk waiting another 10 days. Mirror itself seems cool but I'll never really know...

So this was originally meant to be a present for my Wife, and she was absolutely thrilled. I wanted something that she could use for when she was doing her hair and makeup. But once I get the hang of the functionality, I think I take advantage of the features more than she does. Showed up perfectly intact, which was a relief. I am NOT a fan of buying mirrors and other fragile stuff online, had some bad experience before. When she first opened it, I actually winced a bit, because I was convinced I saw a scratch in the mirror. Turns out it was just a small mark on the protective film they place on the mirror itself, whew. They packed this thing perfectly, so I was confident that it would work fine when unpacked. Installing it in the area of our master bathroom where my Wife wanted it took a bit of doing, had to get an electrician in the family to make sure it was done correctly. You can do it yourself, but all it cost me was a case of beer, so why take chances. Works beautifully. Great lighting, really is perfect for when she wants to listen to music while doing her makeup. Then I got used to the music feature. Once my Wife walked me through how to get my sports update through it, I was set. Taking a shower, shaving, like Aerosmith I don't wanna miss a thing. I can get quick updates on the weather, so when I'm going through the morning routine, I know to dress accordingly. Is it pricey? Yep. Is it worth it? I'd say so. Particularly when you can't find products to really compete with what Kohler has done with this one. I guess it's sort of like being in on the ground floor when 4K TVs first dropped. After a few years, you'll start seeing lower prices. But then you'll have this when almost no one else does. And I can't tell you how impressed guests are with it, they're literally seen nothing like it before. Her girlfriends are envious. My buddies could care less about the lighting, but they dig the Alexa integration and waterproof sound system. Go ahead and give it a shot, see if you like it as much as we do.

Wow. This is gorgeous and looks like what every smart home in the future will have. I had to get some friends (one is a contractor) to help hang this for me. It is quite heavy. It comes with the needed mounting hardware and secures rather simply and sturdily once you hook it on the top. The Alexa set up was a pain, but my son was able to link it after several attempts. If you get stuck, Kohler customer service is awesome. Kohler stands behind its products and this comes with a one-year limited warranty. The lighting is my favorite feature. I need perfect lighting to do makeup and it’s fantastic how you can change how bright or dim you want this to go – from natural daylight to evening lighting. I love the motion-sensor night light, but I wish it would go off after 20-30 seconds. I haven’t looked to see if I can adjust this, but this mirror is pretty customizable to your needs. I haven’t installed the dimmer switch yet, and I’m not sure if I need my bathroom like my dining room, but it’s a nice feature if you want to take a relaxing bath without having to light a bunch of candles. The buttons underneath the bottom remind me of my PC monitor. I can’t tell which one does what and they aren’t really buttons but are some sleek version of a touch sensor or I don’t know what, but this will take some time to get used to. It would have been nice to have some plugs for a blow dryer or flat iron, but this model doesn’t come with those. The side mirrors can be moved in and out to give the feel of a stage makeup mirror, but you can’t see the back of your head. Inside the cabinet is a ton of room for every morning ritual product you can think of and the shelves can be adjusted to fit even your tallest canister of hair spray. There is also lighting inside the cabinet and a built-in magnifying mirror. I thought it would feel weird talking to your mirror, but it’s just like talking to Alexa or Echo or Siri. I can get the weather forecast, stock futures, traffic, and ask Alexa to play my warrior playlist when I am facing a grueling commute. At night I can have tranquil music to take the day off. To sum it up, this is an amazing mirror, but my house isn’t cool enough for it yet. Pros – Cool factor, lighting, size of cabinet, Kohler quality Cons – Price tag, no plugs, I don’t need another Alexa

This was too much of a hassle for the price. We couldn't even install it because of stud and wiring issues in our home: it just wouldn't work for the space we had. I wasn't super fond of the mirror's look anyway, so we just gave up trying to find a space to install it. You're better off just buying smart lights, motion detectors, and an Echo Dot for your bathroom.
