Upon ordering, I wasn't sure what type of lining this bag would have but I love Vera Bradley bags, and I often use Belt Bags, turned cross body more often since I don't need to carry a bunch of stuff around so I grabbed this for every day carry items like a powerbank, my wallet, some snacks, tissues and my phone of course. Plus, I'm familiar enough with VB prints so I was pretty much here for the ride and looked forward to the surprise the inside of the bag would bring! Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by such fun colors and print inside. It's super cute! The quilted construction of the thick fabric is solid, cushiony and has a nice feel to it. The buckles are made of a sturdy plastic, and the strap is like a skinny seatbelt so it's comfortable around my neck. Thankfully, there's an easy access pocket in the front for little things like chapstick, or a couple of cards, and another pocket inside for small things like tissue paper. Neither will fit my very large iPhone Max. On top of it all, the zippers are authentic YKK, so I know they'll last, and the fabric pulls are glued and stitched for longevity. As much as I'd love for this to have RFID protection, like some VB bags do, it's not a huge deal, as my wallet is already RFID protected. Since the bag itself fits a little bit more than I had expected, I think I may use it on my next vacation since it will lay flat in my carry on or backpack easily. Plus my tech bag fits easily in there so I'm not super worried about the lack of pockets inside. Regardless, it's nice to have something like this for walking around at farmers markets, or just out and about to hold basic things and random items I may pick up on the way. If I run out of room, I always have a carabiner on hand to just hook other bags onto!

The Vera Bradley Portnoy belt bag is soft and luxurious! Fanny packs are back in fashion and this one is a great option! The outside nylon material is soft and the inside floral pattern looks striking against the black solid outside. The inside of the bag is spacious with an extra zipper compartment. The bag also has an additional small zipper pocket on the front outside. The strap is wide and easily adjustable, and also has a buckle closure.

I don’t normally use belt bags and I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to wear it as a crossbody and not around my waist in order to avoid looking like I’m in the 1980s. Will try that next time but today I went out for a walk with it around my waist and it was pretty comfortable. The adjustable belt is generously sized; I have a 35” waist and there was a ton of room to adjust it to be larger. I think it would be work for plus sized folks or those with larger chests. The lining is adorable and I love that there are zipper pockets on the front and inside. The bag looks and feels well constructed and the quilted outer material seems like it will be easy to clean and the main pocket is very spacious. Overall, I’m super happy with this bag and the price and quality are on point for the Vera Bradley brand.

The quilting gives it style and the lining is a fun pop of color, but it doesn’t feel flashy or tacky. The belt/strap is super adjustable, so I can wear it at my hip as a belt bag or lengthen it and use it as a crossbody. My giant zip around wallet even fits in it, which is more than I would expect of any belt bag like this. I carry a big backpack as my “purse” so I always have anything I might need (almost the kitchen sink), but I usually just carry my wallet, keys, and phone when going in a store. This gives me the perfect neat way to carry those things, so now it’s a sub-bag within my backpack, which works for me perfectly. It slings over my shoulder just fine, or I can just carry it by the strap in my hand. It appears and feels very well made, and my backpack is black so it matches well; I hope this lasts for me for years and I don’t think that’s unlikely.

This is a beautiful, large belt bag! The outside looks like a black quilt and the inside has a fun Vera Bradley pattern. I was surprised by how large it is - but I'm happy because I used it for travel and had to hold a lot of various items for my family. I was able to do so without any issues and looked stylish as well!

It's ugly. The lining is Vera Bradley, but unless you walk around with it wide open, no one will know. The outside is a quilted fabric and nothing much to look at. If you tell someone this is Vera Bradley, they will probably look at you like you're crazy.

To be brutally honest, I think fanny packs are outdated and sling-type bags look better and are a bit more practical. This particular color is a hidden surprise because it's jet black on the outside but has a bright VB pattern on the inside. Is there a point to the fabric being quilted? Maybe not. The zippers are super easy to use. The side-release buckle for the main strap is the low-profile type so it stays slim. At the end of the day, $55 for a fanny pack is not cheap, but this might still have appeal for diehard VB fans.
