This won't hold long cosmetics or things longer than 3" easily. Pretty much things smaller than a baseball. It's well finished, got YKk zippers, and tagged as a real Vera Bradley product. My toddler has been adopting tiny pouches found at families places and will love it. I've had an item change on me in the far past. At purchase this was called "Vera Bradley Women's Cotton Mini Cosmetic Makeup Bag (One Size, Wing in Flight)" This is a new product, so it's description may adjust to suit the product over time. I thought I was ordering a small make up bag the same size as my old Vera Bradley bag. I didn't realize it would be so small. It was my fault for not noticing this. I really like it though. It is perfect for my purse!

I have another "mini" Vera Bradley cosmetic bag that's easily three times the size of this. When I first opened the bag, I thought they had sent me a coin purse instead. Fortunately, the bag expands to a greater width than that, even if the height and length are close to a coin purse. I wish I had paid attention to the actual measurements on this page instead of relying on the product name. This mini bag is big enough to fit lipstick, lip balm, and a couple of other short objects. It's not long enough for mascara. I might use mine for jewelry when I travel since it's small enough to tuck into a purse. I love the butterfly "Wings in Flight" pattern. If I were given the small try out small item in the new Vera line, or a huge bag, I would not accept it. Tacky, not well constructed ... I would not want any of it as a gift, so I am glad that I have vintage Veras to keep and enjoy. When quality lacks, even free is not acceptable.
