It's a -bottle carrier-! I wanted a purse and I couldn't tell from the pictures that it's a bottle bag. I missed the word hydration in the title, and I still might not have noticed because I searched for a purse and this bottle bag was among other purses. Now about the product: It is very well made. It has a large main compartment that is expandable and a roomy outer compartment. You could use it as a purse--as I am--but be aware the bottom of the bag is open, but it does have a strap that prevents a wallet or bottle from sliding out. I tried to safety pin it closed, but it might cause a rip, so I am using the plastic bag that held the purse/bottle bag during shipping as a liner until I can find something tubular or sleeve-like to slip in as a liner to close the bottom. The strap is thin like a cord so it won't slip off your shoulder like wider straps do, and the cord-like dimension makes it easy to slip on and off over your head when you want to use it as a cross-body purse/bottle bag. I am keeping it to use as a purse because of its strong construction and because it is Vera Bradley and I never could afford a Vera Bradley before. The only reason I could afford this pretty purse/bottle bag is because it was on sale during Amazon Deals sale. The main compartment holds two pouches (4x5.5in and 4x6.25in) that I carry things in. The outer compartment holds a 4x3.75in expanding credit-card holder and a 5x3.25 pouch I use for credit cards and driver's license. The bottom of this outer, zippered pocket has puckers at each corner that I discovered allows extra room for something bulky or if I over stuff it, and still keeps a smooth, neat appearance. I am giving it 5 stars in spite of my disappointment that it is not a purse because it is still useful to me and so well made.

For someone who is constantly on the go and constantly has their hands busy, this is such a great way to keep water on my person. I have a hard time staying hydrated, and to be honest, having an intentional accessory that dedicates itself to reminding me to bring and drink my water is great. The material is firm and durable, and the design is super cute, but I will say that the bag is a bit smaller than I'd like for it to be. It is hands down one of the best ways to carry water while traveling or walking around just about anywhere though!

This is a fun item and I liked the idea however, the bottom of bottle holder is not solid and my bottle slipped through while I was testing this out. I had read a review that mention this problem but I thought my bottle would certainly have a wide enough base but it didn’t. The item seem well made -I wish it had worked out.

My wife cruises a lot of craft shows and other events on the weekends in down here in Florida and she has been using this crossbody tote extensively for the last few weeks. She likes that she can carry a thirty ounce tumbler with a handle in it securely. It’s easy to carry comfortably since the strap is adjustable and with the crossbody style she does not have to remove it from the bag to take a drink as needed. She also likes that it is machine washable and just loves to pattern. The extra pocket with the key hanger is handy as she can ditch the purse and just carry this. She had it loaded down the other day and even put her phone and a snack in there. This Vera Bradley bag seems pricey at first glance but it’s a quality made product that will last for several seasons and beyond. The wife said the price is fine and even if it wasn’t it’s the best solution to carrying water with her that she has seen thus far.

I really want to love the Vera Bradley Carew Hydration Crossbody bag. I ordered it because I walk and hike all the time and being able to carry water is a must. But that’s about all this bag does. The bag is very well-constructed and serves its purpose well for short walks. The ripstop recycled polyester material feels durable, and the stitching is high quality. The zipper runs smoothly without snagging. The material is water resistant which is great when dealing with water bottles. The bag securely holds different sizes of bottles, whether I’m carrying a slim metal water bottle or a wider plastic one. It does that job perfectly. The external pocket, while handy, has its limitations. It fits either my phone or my wallet—but not both. I still need a larger bag if I want to carry more stuff, like keys, and that is a bit frustrating. It works great for short outings where I don’t need to carry much else, but it’s not ideal for longer trips or anything beyond a simple walk. It is s functional and stylish, just not as versatile as I had hoped.

This is a nice item to take on a hike or to a sports event. There is a place to put your water bottle and there is a zippered area where you can put your wallet. The strap is adjustable, and the bottle area holds a pretty large size water bottle. I love the Vera Bradley print and quality. It's such a simple idea, but it is really nice to be able to have a place for both water bottle and wallet. The fabric is not the cotton fabric they use for their tote bags. This fabric is more water resistant, so it shouldn't get stained or damaged if you need to put it on the ground.
