  • Comfortable performance saddle
Style: R3 Size: 140mm
The Argo Vento saddle is a good choice for racing or endurance riders with saddle sore issues. Saddle sores can become an issue when riding long distances and a problematic once a rider is beset with an irritated bottom. Riding position, bike fit, hygiene, saddle shape, and saddle cushioning all play a part. I developed a chronic saddle sore issue that wasn't alleviated easily with rest and total abstinence from riding was not an option. The issue developed after a long term use of a well broken in Brooks leather saddle (decades of use with no issue) and wouldn't resolve after addressing the other aspects mentioned. I measured my sit bone width and selected the appropriate Argo Vento saddle (125mm) for me and problem solved. It really relieved pressure in the perineum that was the most sensitive area for me. I had a little trouble with the saddle being a little short for positioning with my seat post, but was ok once positioned as far forward in the post as possible. The R3 saddle is lightweight, firm, and appropriately cushioned for fast paced or competitive riding. I highly recommend this saddle if you are dealing with or want to avoid saddle sores. ... show more

  • Exactly what I needed
Style: R1 Size: 150mm
I've been suffering with going numb "down there" during any ride longer than 30 minutes. I was on a Fabric saddle with a channel/cut out but it wasn't very deep and it was more towards the middle-rear of the saddle. I spent nearly 8k miles on that saddle thinking this was as good as it would ever get. Finally my condition was getting worse, so I knew I needed to make a change. I knew within the first 2 miles I made the right choice but was also mad that I waited so long. This is hands down the most comfortable saddle I've ever owned. That doesn't mean it's for everyone. This saddle is stiff (aka firm/hard) but that's what I prefer. Where it shines is the big cutout in the middle. Plus it looks great and is insanely lightweight. ... show more

  • Good saddle shape, a slippery cover
Style: R5 Size: 150mm
I found it a bit difficult to find the sweet spot for this saddle because it is much more slippery on the bottom than anything else i've used. It's an odd feeling and not one you get used to quickly. After about 40mi and 5 adjustments, I think i have it dialed in. It is a good shape for my bum (110mm sit bone, 150mm saddle size). It is an intermediate between a truly short saddle like the specialized power and a traditional saddle. The potential advantage is that it allows you to move around a bit more than the short nose. However the cover is so slippery, i don't think it will in practice give me much ability to stay in different positions (other than the optimal setup) for more than ~30sec. Hopefully it gets more tacky over time to take full advantage of the intermediate length. Construction quality is good as usual for the brand. Update: After 3 months , it has worn in a bit and less slippery. Quality has held up. Upgraded to 4 stars. ... show more

  • Firm but good.
Style: R3 Size: 140mm
I'd been wanting a saddle with a pressure relief channel for a while and when I was able to get a good price on this one I jumped at it. I'm giving a 5 star review partly because I think this has more negative reviews than it deserves. Saddles are very personal things. What works well for one person won't for others. Yes the saddle is firm. I would recommend pairing them with padded cycling shorts. I don't go on super long rides, about 90 minutes on average. If I was to go on very long rides maybe this saddle wouldn't be the right choice, but I'm happy with it. A good saddle is one you can forget about. I finish my rides and I'm not sore. It suits my body type and overall the materials feel high quality. Especially if you can find this product at a discount, it's worth it. If you want more padding there's also the Argo Tempo aimed at endurance riding. Good luck and happy riding. ... show more

  • Longest lasting saddle I have ever owned
Style: R5 Size: 150mm
I ride MTB, and I can truly say this saddle will last you a LONG time. I traveled for a year with my bike exposed to all kinds of elements; it was outside about 99 percent of the time, and this saddle still looks new. I owned it for a year and a half before this, too! It's about average when it comes to comfort; it's more comfortable than the old WTB I used for years, and it's not as comfortable as a Specialized saddle I used for a little while. But the Specialized one was a bit too padded and looked lame on my bike. This thing looks great and is built well. ... show more

  • Nice cutout, but sharp fall off
Style: R3 Size: 140mm
From the moment I got on this saddle I knew this wasn't for me. Cutout is great, it's quite large. The padding is also sufficiently supportive, yet firm. The only, but an important, issue with this saddle is where it starts falling off on the edges. I currently use a 138mm saddle that has a smooth side-to-side curve. Despite it's narrow width, it doesn't give me any sore points. This saddle, however, has a flat section in the middle, then falls off with a sharper angle, resulting in a kink right where my sit bones contact the saddle. It's not a pleasant feeling, to say the least. I don't see this saddle being comfortable with anyone but quite narrow sit bones to be honest. I have 115mm sit done width and I tried the 142mm version. Perhaps the wider version would fit better, but I just didn't like the design overall. You might get luckier than me. ... show more

  • Great saddle, finally got some relief
Style: R5 Size: 140mm
I tried several saddle, no saddle last more than a week. Finally, I found this saddle, it works for me. Soreness is minimal after hard riding, no pressure on the genitalia. Keep in mind what works for me might not work for you. My bike is a racing bike with aggressive geometry, this saddle will allow me to ride on the drops for a longer time with minimal soreness. The cut in the saddle is a huge relief of the perineal pressure, your boys will be happy!! ... show more

  • Perfect for me
Style: R5 Size: 150mm
This saddle is perfect for me and found it resolved the issue I had with the fizik tempo r3. While I liked the tempo, I stated to find the fizik Tempo a challenge to maintain in the drops. I have 140mm sit bones and the 150 is bang on for short and long rides so far. Minimal break in time.
