I snagged this bed gap filler for a particular use case - to bolster and smooth out the little ditch between the two separate air bags that go into the guts of the mattress box for an older generation Sleep Number bed. In short, mission accomplished. Purposeful design, good-quality materials, and solid workmanship were evident once the device was unrolled from its seriously air-tight shrink-wrap packaging. Contrary to the consumer notice included in the box, there was no off-gassing or odor, and it took less time than predicted for the filler to lay flat. With a California King mattress, I worried that the product's stated length of 80 inches might fall short, but the gap filler proved to lie out a tiny bit longer than specified and was easy to locate effectively atop the entire cleft between the airbags. Once everything was reassembled, the only disappointment, apparent during installation, was that the "T" anchor cannot descend deeply enough into the fissure to pull down and secure the midpoint of the mat entirely smoothly on the mattress' surface. There is now a soft, subtle bump that visually divides the bed into left and right sides from head to foot. But the gap filler density is perfectly suited to its purpose, and while the bump might be noticed - even when covered with a plush blanket and (thin) bedspread - it is tactually imperceptible! What a relief, after all these years, to no longer encounter that ridge of low pressure when rolling over what is now only an imaginary line between bed partners. Wild guess: with the compression involved in our crossing the line of the former divide, the bump will soon visually recede into a perfect flatness in line with the mattress top - and I'll be left with nothing at all to complain about.

I have two twin-XL adjustable beds in a king frame. The frame keeps the beds together, but there was a small gap between the mattresses that swallowed reading glasses, phones, bed controllers, etc. I was skeptical about this item, thinking it would be bulky or that it wouldn't allow me to raise my side of the mattress for reading. But...I already love this thing. It was easy to install and is soft and squishy so I don't even notice it. Also, no more lost items in the gap! And best of all, it just bends right along with whichever mattress is being raised or lowered and slots itself right back into the gap. I've installed it over the sheets since we have twin beds and want to raise/lower them individually. Because it's on top of the sheets, I appreciate that the gap filler has a zipped cover to make it easy for laundering. If you have smaller beds that you want to combine into a big bed, you could easily have this gap filler under a mattress pad or fitted sheet and it would likely not even be noticed.

I recently got this gap filler for our adjustable bed setup, and it’s made a huge difference in comfort. My partner and I love the flexibility of having two separate twin XL mattresses, but the gap in the middle was always a bit annoying.
