  • Great
Great basement window. Replaced the old awning style steel framed/1/4" thk glass windows that were embedded into the concrete from 1950s. I needed to chisel/pry old frame out but wasn't that bad. These windows are excellent for the price and are efficient if installed properly. Be sure to use spray foam specifically for windows and doors due to expansion rate. You do not want to use a high expanding spray foam. Throughly caulk inside and outside joint and you'll be happy. I needed a hammer drill for my application along with plenty of plastic shims for leveling. It's been over 2 years, four installed with mid 90s in summer/ low teens in winter and has been great no leaks 👍. Weep slots always go at the bottom of the sill** Updated with 4in dryer exhaust vent retrofit. I removed the slider and set aside as spare. Used prefinished white 1/16 alum sheet (azm/HD) with #7x1/2" hwh screws. Careful not to puncture anything beside the rpvc frame. Did this outside and inside and sandwiched tightly fit insulation board in cavity between both alum sheets. Be sure to use plenty of silicone around the dryer vent components, the perimeter of the alum sheet to frame and all fastener heads. At the very end of installation I applied privacy film as these are on ground level. Still let's in great light. 2024 update: it's been 4yrs having these windows and everything has been great and performing as expected. No breach in the perimeter glazing seals (no condensation, fogging, streaking etc.) Solid product and well made! ... show more

  • Perfect for the price!
Recently I turned half of my carport into a small garage/workshop and decided I wanted a window at the entrance door end of the enclosure. In my haste I framed the window to a large incorrect size for the window I had already purchased so I had to start looking for a side sliding window that would fit the newly framed opening. I came across this 24x32 basement slider which seemed perfect. I also didn't want to spend a fortune on something that was just for my garage and not my actual house and the price was more than reasonable on this. The window come in less than a week via amazon and the fit was absolutely perfect! The window looks great, functions well and met my needs perfectly. The only thing I don't love is that there is no lip at the bottom of the closed window, which makes it less than easy to push open. You have to push it open by the top edge of the frame around where the lock is. Also these do not fold out for cleaning. You have to remove the screen half to get to the outer right side of the window. Aside from the those little things this window turned out to be a perfect match for my project and I would certainly purchase it again if needed! Definitely recommended! ... show more

  • Quality window!
This is really a very fine window. It was wrapped and packaged very securely. However, the window did have one corner of the fin broken off; it appears it was packaged in that condition, though...did not happen during shipping. It was not a significant material damage, and we were able to install the window after making the repair to the fin. The window installs like a replacement window rather than nails through the fins in a new construction type window install. The fin is simply a stop to hold the window at the right depth position against the framing. Attaching screws are installed from the 2 sides from inside. The only other issue is that their is no handle or grab plate for opening and shutting the window. That would be nice as it is not good to push and pull on the locking mechanism. I had to reinforce this fact on members of the household using the window in the shower we installed it in. ... show more

  • You can use a window any way you like. As long as it blocks the weather.
Hey this window is meant to be installed horizontally, but it's my house and it is so hard finding windows that fit a mobile home. They always to wide or to long or both. Well I took it upon myself to install it vertically it has no springs to hold it, don't need it using a tool we used on old wood windows to hold them open it's called a stick with five different holes for different opening desired. The pin passes through the stick and holds window up. Ver,very, very old school. It works great. ... show more

  • Perfect for replacing our basement windows!
Our windows in our basement were in desperate need of replacing. Our house is not new and our basement is just concrete walls/floor. The old windows were the aluminum frame style. I was able to leave the metal frame surrounding the concrete opening, all I had to do was remove the plastic spacers underneath the screws in the new windows. I put them in, pre-drilled the holes for the screws and screwed them in with concrete anchor screws. Then I used door/window expanding foam to fill the gaps and afterwards, I sealed the windows with window caulk/sealant. These windows do a great job of keeping out the cold/heat. They open, close, and lock with ease. They look great and we have two more windows in the basement we will be replacing with this same style. I recommend the following tools if you have a similar job to mine: 1/4" Concrete Anchor Screws 2 inches long, Door/Window expanding foam (the white stuff at Home Depot is best), Door/Window Sealant/caulk, and hammer drill, masonry drill bits, a good contractor's break-away knife/razor, and a razor blade for cleaning up anything that gets on the glass. The windows did not take much time to install. ... show more

  • Glass cracked after install a week later NO REASON.
Size Name: 32x16 Inch Style: Window
a week after installing the window I come to find one day the inside panes on both the opening side and the non-opening side were cracked. the outside panes were untouched. I have no idea why or how this happened. The strange thing about it was the left side (non-opening) had a perfect round crack in the middle of the pane; it fell out after a day or two. Very Strange???????? ... show more
