  • That's tomato sauce!!
After years of jarring tomatoes by hand, we purchased this tomato milling machine. It is amazing! Quickly separates the skins and seeds from stewed tomatoes, leaving a purée ready for jarring.

  • Heavy duty Juicer
I love this juicer. It made short work of batches of my tomatoes. It cleans up fast. Great product if you love to can. This is a canning must.

  • MVP of my tomato sauce making from fresh tomatoes
I'm totally satisfied with this unit. I like to make my own fresh tomato sauce from real tomatoes. At first I was hesitant on not buying the cadillac version made in Italy because Im a firm believer in you get what you pay for. But I know that all motors come from same place anyway. I took a chance on this and could not be more thrilled with the way it operates and separates the seeds and skin form the pulp. (tomato strainer). I already made two rounds of sauce using 30 -40 tomatoes. Easy to clean, comes apart and washes easily. Plastic gasket around motor bearing prevents liquids from going into the motor. My only issue is the wire bracket that surrounds the shute where you attach to the strainer is a bit clumsy but that might be standard on all of these machines. Not sure. ... show more

  • Short of commercial grade
The machine looked impressive at first glance but falls short of being commercial grade. The instruction sheet that came with it is very brief and doesn't mention removing the feed housing for cleaning. The feed housing requires a wrench to remove it and a wrench didn't come with the unit. The cone sieve doesn't secure to the feed housing very well. It appears that the rotation of the auger ( which is made from a composite plastic) is what keeps the cone from coming loose. When the machine is running the cone wobbles. When processing semi cooked tomatoes, it did a pretty thorough job and was happy about that. The machines outside cover above the motor became very hot to touch after processing 15 quarts of soft (semi cooked) tomatoes. I dread to see how hot it would get after processing raw tomatoes for 15 minutes. Instructions say to only run processing for no longer than 15 minutes, then let it cool down. Never seen a commercial grade machine give such a short time for a processing time. Only thing I can see that is commercial grade about this machine is it's made with stainless steel (except the auger). Although this tomato strainer processed the tomatoes very well for it's first time, I wonder about it's durability. It's far from being commercial grade and a bit over priced. I should have returned it but I'm in the middle of the canning season and can't afford the time to get another processor. ... show more

  • Unsafe
The media could not be loaded. The tomato sauce I made turned out well, and the machine separated seeds & skin perfectly. However, the machine got too hot for me to touch! The instructions say to run it only 15 min at a time, which I did and processing my sauce took forever because of all the breaks! When I was done, I ended up talking it apart to clean it, too! ... show more

  • Heavy duty
We bought this specifically for processing tomato into sauce. Very easy to use. Quick clean up. We processed about 100 lbs per hour with this. Must have for bulk canning!

  • Modified plastic screw mechanism
As Chris Tillery explained we modified the end of the plastic screw mechanism and it worked like a charm. Did 50# of tomatoes with great success. Will treat this machine with kit gloves and should work for my huge tomato harvests to come. Just a couple of things to note....be sure the spring is placed on the strainer/screw side of the drive adapter.... making sure the metal end with O ring is toward the motor. We also lubed up the O ring with a bit of bacon grease/lard before putting it together and using. Helped to make sure the O ring made a good seal. Also can't see how a person could have it run for more than 15 minutes. I turned it on before adding a pitcher full of slightly stewed tomatoes, ran them through, then shut it off in order to refill my pitcher. The whole process of the milling of 50# of tomatoes only took approx 30 minutes, with saucer only running in short one minute increments. Also I found that how I pre-processed my tomatoes made a difference. In the late summer and fall when harvesting, I cored and scored my tomatoes, then froze them whole with skins on in gallon size Ziploc bags. Thawing the tomatoes from frozen state, then running them through the saucer pulled ALL the seeds and bigger chunks of skin, rather than if I cooked them down first and then running them through. When I cooked them, first of all they were hot to handle, and secondly the skins that made it to the end of the screw drive were ground up and thus added to my sauce. Tried to avoid that as I feel that the skins add a bitterness to the sauce. ... show more

  • Spaghetti Sauce
This works like a charm. Last year I did 50# of Romas by hand and did a pp# this year. How 38 quarts and 10 pints of sauce. Love this machine. Recommend that you cook the tomatoes some bs using raw the pulp and seeds were dry.
