Great safe. Fits nicely into a closet in our basement. Everything worked as expected. The only snag I had was getting the WiFi to connect to my mesh network, but this worked after a few minutes of tinkering. Now it works great and I'm extremely happy with it. It is potentially a bit "tippy," so I put a screw through the back to hold it against the wall. I would not put it somewhere where it cannot be secured to the floor or wall. Love it! ... show more

This safe has it all. Fingerprint, panic button, code… it opens on demand and springs out. I couldn’t be happier with this safe as I have a house full of women to protect!

    • For the premium price there shouldn't be this many headaches
Having previously purchased a VT20 and a Barikade, you would think I’m a huge proponent of their products. The truth is, for the most part these are high quality products and fulfill needs not met by other lock boxes and safes. I will say that I have had an issue with the VT20 where on a few occasions I have closed it and the lid did not latch properly and opened back up. Not something you need to be worrying about with a safe. With each of these three items, the programming was extremely difficult. The process entails a combination of pushing a program button along with a combination of number buttons on the safe. Part of the issue is that the instructions are not very clear in some parts and on each safe it has taken me multiple times to get the programming correct. Another issue is their apps which are horrible. After programming the VT20 and linking it to the app, after a few months the battery level no longer read correctly and the feature to open the safe via the app no longer worked. With the RS200i, I cleared a tamper alert on the safe interface but it does not clear on the app. The RS200i ships with a USB wall adapter along with a USB cord that has a female connector on the opposite end. It is a three-foot cord and the instructions recommend keeping the safe plugged in. The cord was too short for my situation and after some research I could not tell if the cord had a Type-H, M or N female connector so I contacted Vaultek customer service who had to call me back. When I finally did speak with a representative they told me that the female connection was proprietary and assembled in their own facility which I know is not true. They recommended I stretch their cord across the floor to charge the safe every now and then to which I responded my back will not allow me to do that. Then they suggested I buy their powerpack accessory but again, that requires the same cord. One last item – their online registration is laughable. They want you to provide the color of the safe and there are many. Is it black or grey? They also request the serial number, the number that is engraved on the keys, the order number from where you bought the safe, and they request you upload a photo of your receipt. To me, this seems like a way of if you have a warranty claim, they can say the warranty information you provided is incorrect and deny you. For such a hefty price I would expect more from these products. I’d suggest making sure there isn’t anything else available that might fit your specific needs before purchasing a Vaultek. ... show more
