I installed this myself on a drywall wall in my son's room. Installation is easy, just make sure you have a level to ensure it's straight. To my surprise (I probably didn't read the description well) those white pieces are actually frosted glass, which I wasn't expecting. The dimmer function is great, the lowest setting is not night-light dim, but it's much dimmer than having the overhead lights turned on--which is perfect because I wanted to use it as a night table lamp, but on the wall, so it wouldn't take up space on the night table. The cords on the lights are not six feet long, as stated in the product description, they're 5 feet long. See picture. The switch is also not in the center of the cord, as stated in the product description. See picture. If you were to completely disassemble all of the wiring on the back side and stretch it out, you MIGHT have 5 1/2 feet but not 6. One foot makes a big difference when you've planned the project around the specs that they give. Called Amazon and they just wanted me to return the lights so that they could send me the same version back...doesn't solve the problem. They said it's not their issue that the cord is too short and don't care that the description is inaccurate. ... show more

I bought it for reading on bed. My spouse gets disturbed when I turn lights ON for whole room to read books. After installing wall sconce my spouse is now happy. It is very easy to install with just 2 screws in wall. It doesn't mess the walls. It come with 6ft power cord included with dimmer hence, it is long enough to flexibly install the sconce on wall. Dimmer is the winning thing which allows us to dim the light as per the requirement and not to lighten entire room however, brightest point is bright enough to lit your area properly.
