I’ve owned both paddles and love them both! Both paddles: -very fast and good for hand battles -very good access to spin -have decent power, although not as much as an extended paddle -smaller face has a small but rewarding sweet spot The 2 paddles are more similar than different. I don’t have any objective numbers to back this up, but here’s what I noticed: 14mm - when compared to the 16mm, it has a more direct feel and instant feedback. There’s less vibration dampening and as a result you know exactly where the ball is on the paddle. This results in very good directional control, excellent spin. A little more difficult to gauge depth when you miss the sweet spot, but the sweet spot is very nice when you hit it. Best for: attacks, counters, fast dropping drives. 16mm - when compared to the 14mm, it has a more dampened feel, a little more cushion and control. Slightly less power and less spin. The more dampened feel offered comfort on off center hits, but did not offer power on off center hits. Best for: dinking, resets If you’re coming from tennis and have experience with players rackets, I’d say if you’re used to a Wilson Pro Staff try the 14mm. If you prefer a Wilson Blade, get the 16mm. I’m guessing most people gravitate towards the 16mm but my preference has been the 14mm lately for the direct feel. I’ve experimented with some lead tape at various locations on both paddles but I’m finding it plays great in stock form with an over grip. When I keep the lead tape on, it’s 4g at the bottom of the handle to increase static weight without increasing swingweight for more of a traditional tennis racket style setup. Customer service is terrific. I had a small issue but Daryl was incredible to work with. Vatic Pro really stands by their products.

This paddle plays similar to the Joola Hyperion 16mm, but is has a little more pop and a bigger sweet spot. The Vatic pro v7 had too much pop for me, but the flash is just right. I prefer the rounded head shape as well. I had to lead tape the Joola to get the feel I wanted, but this one is ready to go out of the box (with adding an over grip). Can’t beat the price also!

Don't overpay for big name paddles, like Selkirk or Joola. This small company makes great paddles without a heavy price tag. You will see more and more players buy/use Vatic, Ronbus, and Legacy, because they are on par with majority of the paddles.

I would have given 5 start if it was not the way it is packaged: cheap plastic bag like what we see at dollar store. It plays well. Also, the company uses the words "produced, based, ..." in Orange County but never directly says "made or manufactured" there. In addition, "Made in USA," is not even printed on any of their paddles.

This is my 3rd purchased paddles. The first was a starter paddle from a different brand. It was a set with 3 balls and a bag. I’ve used those paddles when i first started playing PB. I was looking for a paddle that feels good and that i can control. I found control and good feel with this Vatic Pro paddle. I feel i have improved my games having this paddle. I recommend this paddle.

Female Vatic Pro Flash 16mm here been playing i like competitive play for 22months. This gives me power control versatile. Love the shape the grip length and size, the high quality of this paddle it works for me and I came from a engage mx 6.0, to a CFS Joola 14mm, then DBD 6.0 a lil less control for me with this one. I also love the xspak but do not get anywhere near the power of this paddle. It is my top choice, I cannot imagine playing better with any other paddle. I am able also to return super fast drives no problem. I am close to 3.75 working my way to 4.0. they give you a 30 day trial on here with money back guarantee mine has stayed with me bought it a few Months ago. My gal friend prefers the Vatic Pro V7 thats a bit heavy for me.
